And, you know, we had a terrible game plan. They were driving to the hole early and we were missing 3s.

UF did a good job of basically sending an extra man from the opposite side. So the only way JWill and Johni could have hit the open man was by making a crazy pass to the opposite corner, with their back turned to them, while avoiding hitting the goal with their pass.
We should expect other teams to try the same thing though. If they can’t see the man and make the pass they’ve got to get it back out to the perimeter and either rotate it over to the corner or even get the ball out, spread the defense back out, get it back into the post for a quick move from one of them.

And don’t forget that Florida is a damn good team. They have gotten better throughout the year. Like App St, this one was kind of a perfect storm. Look at all the good teams that go to a tough road environment and get blown out. It happens every week, and it’s before we are dealing with the psyches of young kids.
