I’m in.

If Wes is leaving the program it would have to be as a lower level head coach or asst head coach at Ole Miss with a pay raise I would guess. Still think he hangs around until there is a great place to go. Auburn is a hard place to leave as a mature coach.

I’d be ok with seeing everyone leave outside of Westry and Broome tbh. This team needs some alpha dogs that can take over a game like Jared Harper or some shooters like Bryce. Wendell is a very poor man’s Jared Harper.

I think they’re back. Possibly KD too.
Subtract Flan, Lior, Stretch, Zep…probably CMo too

Add Aden, a healthy Chance Westry, another shooter or 2 out the portal and Traore makes a jump. Profit

I think everybody should want Wen back. I could see an argument for not wanting him to be starting pg for a contender but he’s a piece and I think could play the 2 with the right pg or lead bench unit

Tre improved tremendously over the course of the season, IMO.

Before the season I didn’t even know if he belonged at Auburn.

I still saw him as a four star safety.

He is more of a basketball player than athlete . He deserves a lot of praise.

Miami making another run with basically the roster construct we had in 2019..

I miss that. I enjoy watching them

Why do you think Bruce hasn’t recruited back to that model?

Jared Harper

He was a bad mf’er. Fearless. Deadly from range and quick enough to drive by you and dunk with authority. I hate this phrase, but Harper definitely had that dog in him.

I don’t know man those guys are just hard to recreate. We’ve had some recruiting misses on elite targets and a couple poor evals over the last 3 years. 2021 was just such a disaster of a season and basically had to start over at guard positions for the second year in a row for 2022 after losing Cooper, Powell, and Johnson.

I think it was AA7 yesterday talking about Bruce being so enamored with with the traditional bigs for whatever reason and I probably agree with the critique after watching that 2019 team. It was kinda lucky cause we recruited McLemore as a 4 and he then just turned out to be the perfect 5 (had to play him there beginning in 2018 with Wiley suspended) to pair with Harper and Bryce as a floor spacing, rim rolling, shot blocking 5. Who knows if we would have ever even tried him there without the Person scandal?

I do think that roster is hard to recreate on paper so I think Bruce doesn’t try to overthink it and just recruits guys who he knows will compete as hard as he wants, have a little chip on the shoulder, and after some misses on the high end versions of those guys you end up with a more mediocre roster.

I think we're all over thinking things. That 2019 team was a perfect construct at the end but remember that team had 9 loses going into the last week of the season.
AND we were LITERALLY #1 last season and a 2-Seed!!

Also think about this team and what's gone.
Powell was our shooter. He is...at Wazzu.
Trey Alexander was to be the slasher/playmaker off guard. He is...at Creighton.
Walker Kessler was a shot blocking lob threat. Those are hard to replace.
Devan Cambridge averaged 10 & 5 this season...for Arizona State. That would've been nice to have coming off the bench vs what we got from Chris Moore, right?

Just have to consider all things.

Yeah I agree with you.. the 2019 team was more my preference though just in terms of style. The 2023 construct isn’t far at all from elite potential with just slightly better talent at a couple spots or maybe replace any of our 1-3 spots with a bonafide star. Like if you simply took Wong from Miami in a trade for KD Johnson you’re suddenly looking at a real contender

If Bama's football DNA is national championships, UAT's basketball DNA is to have an an upset in the next few games. Don't be shocked.

Yeah you’re right I’d want Tre back, he was hitting 3s like crazy and got pulled both times.

I’m interested to see the Atlanta talent pool and where they go. There’s alot of talent in the ATL in the ‘24 class, and I want to see how Auburn can keep up with the ACC schools to the east and other national brands

We reached out to Camren Hunter in the portal from Central Arkansas.

Averaged 16 points and 4 assists this year as a sophomore. Can't shoot. 6'4 so that's nice.

Wouldn't mind as a bench piece but meh
