Good for them. Chris Mack is sinking their ship right now so of course they’ll try to latch onto anything.

The reality is Bruce Pearl is at the height of his career at Auburn. He’s poured 8 years into this thing and it’s pretty clear he loves the university.

His wife owns a doggy daycare in town and most of his family lives in Auburn.

With the current success, I’d be shocked if AU wouldn’t match or exceed any offer UL would put on the table.

I agree. Just funny watching them try and rationalize UL is clearly an upgrade in job.

Louisvillle is an upgrade in historical basketball prestige and a good coach would bring them back pretty quickly, so I wouldn’t blame them for trying.

I am insecure of Bruce leaving but don’t think he would give up the program he has brought up from nothing. These threads have been popping up on rivals and JGT pretty much confirmed that Bruce is content here. Whenever Bruce wants his raise he will get it. Whenever he wants a raise for his staff he will get it. It would take a gigantic Auburn screwup to make Bruce unhappy with Auburn, and I cannot fathom that happening.

Add in the fact that they are also researching a basketball only facility, which in the end tells us that Bruce is getting what he wants, and he is getting the support regardless who the AD is, will be.

I see nothing for him going to UL...

I don’t believe for a second Bruce would go anywhere. Seriously. Duke or UK would maybe get him to answer the phone but that’s about it.

Obviously there is always a chance he could leave, but when you consider Auburn and Bruce helped each other, and so they are tied together on this rise to prominence. He is building something special from scratch, and you're correct, he is getting the facilities and money he wants.

He is getting his share of top players in the country coming to Auburn, he has a fan base that he has lit up into a frenzy. He gets to play the top programs in basketball and compete in the Tourney. I can see him staying put and leaving his legacy upon Auburn basketball as his final stop.

That should mean something to Bruce. After all, Louisville wasn’t calling in 2016.

Money is often the deal breaker though. Sure he feels loved now but many fanbases would love to have him, so Bruce is ours to lose.

I agree with auburnnyc. He isn’t leaving unless Duke/ NC/ Kentucky comes a calling. Then, we can only be happy for him. Those are the meccas of CBB.

Typical Jang willing to praise and criticize anything was mad that Bruce was apologizing to UK faithful (not Auburn fans that endured a drubbing) in Rupp for not raising Auburn’s play to a performance fitting to the arena’s greatness. That’s just the way Bruce is.

If Bruce was forced to read Jang posts he’d pack for Louisville tonight.

I wasn't using that just for Louisville specifically. I was just saying in general he could leave for the right offer.

sure he could. but.....

He knows he won't be loved anywhere else more than the love he is getting from Auburn. He has shown he can compete here as well as any other place in the nation Name another place he could go and have his name on the arena? He is building Auburn's bball history and he knows it.

He even had a good question at the end coach's presser last night. Maybe al . com finally got on to him about the obvious bias

Either that or he’s smart enough to pick his battles and knows Auburn basketball isn’t one to go after
