Thank you AA7. That means a lot to me. It has been a hard year and a half. I can't come home even, much less bring my kids (16 yo son and 12 year old daughter.) They are AU Tigers at heart. We've seen hoops games in the new arena, My family left about halftime when we got blown out by Johnny Football and TAMU 63 or something to something much less. I was actually in town and waiting for my pizza at Papa Johns when I heard on the radio Tuberville was fired. I sold programs as a kid at the base of Ag Hill for years just to get into games free, or go in after the half in the old days. 51 this year, and it is hitting me that I have lived half of my life in Auburn and almost exactly half here in Japan. Will repeat ad nauseum. Everyone, come visit while I am still alive and can properly welcome visitors, at least when Covid is over and it is safe to travel. So to continue the thread hijack that NINO started, but I hope an open invitation to everyone to visit Japan and spend a week or two (free) here is worth the blowback of a thread hijack. Hi Jonesy, Ellitor wherever you are. Thank you snd everyone else for keeping people like me up to date. Even Corch. Nice to meet you Corch. He brings stuff to the board. Everyone needs to get their panties out of their wads. I think Jang is thee most improved poster, not that it means anything, but me likes the newer Jang. WDE everyone. Sorry again for the rare hijack.

I just have to figure out how to watch the games this year since I cut cable out. Worse case, I can listen to the game online.
88, I can help with that. I know plenty of places, ahem, where you can watch any game you want. No one blame me - ESPN screwed me the year they tried 360 degrees and partnered with cable providers. I neverr minded paying 30-40$ for Gameplan. They fricked over a shitload of expats who had no access to a cable provider so (I assume others as well) found other ways to watch every AU hoops or football live (with the time difference, it usually means I am up watching the day's best games from 1 or 2 am (depending on the time change) through to early afternoon for west coast games if there are any worth watching.

Sorry, drunk post at 2 pm on Saturday in Japan. It's time to go plant more potatoes. Just curious, but why the down votes? I don't really understand. Hijack down votes? Nino's fault. LOL. Alters? I won't say I don't care and frick off, because it is not true. I do ccare within the AU family. We never know when we might actually come across each other, and Lord behold, make friends and spread the fan / alumni, sidewalk or other, family. Shrugs shoulders. Zoology, '93.

I am proud to say that I wiped Charles' sweat off the floor, Chuck (sigh), Jeff Moore. Gerald and Frank, Vern Strickland if anyone remembers him (we used to shoot around at AHS gym with Coach Frank Tolbert in summer pick up games and shoot arounds. Vern was one of the nicest people I have met in my life. Melvin Turpin, Sam Bowie, Dominique, Rex Chapman,Chris Jackson....and I was a great sweat wiper. We had towels then, not mops and stuff. I got a lot of sweatbands and stuff from 80's players at AU and other teams visiting Beard Eaves. Unforgettable, and thankful. Is the basketball thread somewhat back on track?

Lanier, it is time to come back and please let me treat you and yours to a southern / Japanese hospitality visit. We need to set the record straight, and ya'll need to come visit and fish, or drink, or both of course. Or not. I promise your past experiences here and future experiences will be very different. I love fishing. Great memories with my Grandfather of fishing Uncle Tee's pond near Clarksville, Tn. Bluegill, if lucky a largemouth or bullhead, but I fell in love with trout fishing in Nantahala and Cherokee National Forests. Joyce Kilmer Wilderness, Bald, Tellico and Shenandoah Rivers and those areas of the Appalachians and the Blue Ridge watershed. Come fish and drink and leave your tequila at home. Ya'll will be more than welcomed.

Gotta ignore the downvotes. Mentioning downvotes invites downvotes.

Trial and error navigating pop ups and stuff but you will get the hang of it. Some are better than others, and there are still many other options if you google for what you want. I suggest preseason you try to find several sites you like. On game day, occasionally streams are bad or actually broadcast different games, things like that. Good luck and WE.

You're welcome bitches. What are the chances? A bagman here, a bag man there, a bagman over across the pond. Global economy. Global recruiting. Gonzaga had the chest for Rui Hachimura. If you want to see some boys ball, check out Filino hoops, also my recruiting area. Biggest problem is grades and transfer credits in some strange major no one can imagine. Seriously, if they could only get that far. Tough, agile, stamina, leapers, runners up and down the court. Smart. I've seen these guys play barefoot on a concrete court with pebbles and gravel scattered all over it. They played fast and ran a half court offense that was impressive. And I am talking about an 11, 13,15, and two 17 year olds against a similar team of friends in the poorer section of Cebu City. It was fricking amazing. I used to shoot my share of hoops, but I was done after about 5 minutes. They played about two hours, non-stop. Does everyone know about Kai Sotto?
7'2" Kai Sotto is a FILIPINO PHENOM!

I'll take Kessler and raise you one (or two). Sotto has a complete American game from watching American greats growing up. He has Bird's fade away jumper, a nice hook / baby hook from Kareem, and he is unselfish and a great passer. THERE IS NO REASON, except me maybe, and Covid, WHY WE CAN'T RECRUIT ASIA. Everyone elsee is focused on Eurosteps and talent in Europe. It's a bit of a different game but definitely high level, smart, talented ball. Our 3 vs 3 loss, and NOT our first embarrassing, and it is embarrassing, when we any US team gets beat in basketball. While everyone is looking to Europe for the next great player or any number of US university and NBA talent, we would be stupid, as would any team or organization, to ignore Asia.

Had Sotto gone to college he probably would have been at Auburn. Supposedly Sotto is a big reason Tolentino is committed to us.

Tolentino is taking visits to other schools so it’s strange that he has yet to come to AU since the restrictions were lifted
Posted on 6/16/21 at 10:05 am to Rig
I know he visited Cincinnati, but that is understandable since it is so close to where he plays HS ball.
He is a project, as he only avg'd around 9 points this past basketball season but his potential is tremendous, as he refines his already great skills for a big man.
I hope he does visit as that will I think solidify his commitment he made over a zoom visit w/ Pearl.
I also hope we see Kessler go off and have great success under Pearl, as that will show Tolentino he can be just as successful at Auburn.
