Reid Travis.

The most impressive defensive performance of that game was Samir locking up Herro though.

I think it goes something like this if no Thor or no other major additions.

Green/Jasper 25/15
Jasper/Alexander/Flanigan 15/15/10
Flanigan/Cambridge/Moore 15/15/10
Smith/Williams 25/15
Kessler/Cardwell/Smith/Williams 20/10/5/5

Green: 25
Jasper: 30
Alexander: 15
Flanigan: 25
Cambridge: 15
Moore: 10
Smith: 30
Williams: 20
Kessler: 20
Cardwell: 10

I agree with every bit of this post except for that I think Jasper is the clear starter at the 2.

Zep is probably going to be asked to run point a pretty good bit too.

Seems to be chasing clout at this point. I'd still take him though

I see Kessler as a Wiley with better hands

Wiley was not a threat outside of the paint. You better put a hand up on Kessler if he's out around 15-16'

Yeah, I agree. Not a huge feature of his game but definitely notable.

I was just coming over here to try and sort out what our 10 man rotation and minutes would look like with the guys we currently have. I am actually a pretty big fan of this rotation. Adding another guard, which it seems likely we do, is obviously going to effect this though. Would have to cut into Moore's minutes as well as somebody else's potentially.

I was kind of a fan of Chris Moore last year as well. Just another one of those guys that played hard, rebounded well, and shot surprisingly well from 3 when left open. I could see him taking another step forward his sophomore year, and that wouldn't be a bad piece coming off the bench for 10 minutes. Obviously can't complain about adding more a talent and having too many pieces on a roster, I'm just a fan of seeing some of these guys stick around and develop for several years in Bruce's system.

Also, pretty excited about the Kessler addition. I think it fills a clear need at the center position. I think Cardwell can develop into a mini Wiley during his career at Auburn and showed some promise last year, but Kessler is going to bring a much more polished post game and rebounding skill. Smith and Williams will have no problem playing the 5 and stretching the defense from the position when needed. Man I am already getting pumped about next season.

I think my realistic dream finish is we convince Thor to come back and get sills. Outrageous (not so outrageous now) would be getting Thor to come back and Scoot reclassifies. Both of those combinations are dangerous in my opinion. Late game being able to run out a lineup of:

Green
Flanigan
Smith
Thor
Kessler

I don't think we can understate how huge the Kessler signing is not only because he is a solid player but it really frees up what Bruce can do with these last two spots and everyone still feel good about the roster. Let's ride

Not a fan of Flanigan at off guard. He's a 3 and needs to stay there.

I don’t think we’ll use all 13 this year

The roster has 11 guys right now that’s deep at each spot and will play in games. Bet we have an open spot this season

I could easily see a scenario where we get one of Scoot/tyty and Thor comes back.

People are sleeping on Jaylin Williams when projecting next year's minutes. He was our best player for a few weeks this season. Not sure how Bruce will work out all of the rotations but it will be a good problem to have.

I agree. If he can get another shooting guard, that will put us at 12, and still leave it open for Scoot if he reclassifies.

If 1 is left open later, Doesn't Pearl like to give a walkon a scholarship at times?

I really like Williams too, which is why I didn't care very much whether or not Kessler came. But now Kessler is here and is gonna eat some of his minutes.

With Kessler in the fold, I’m curious if Jaylin starts playing some at the 4 too.

Kessler will eat up space just like Wiley but Kessler will be an offensive matchup nightmare for a lot of teams. His low post skill and footwork for a freshman is pretty damn impressive. He’s going to be an automatic bucket for a lot of undersized teams.

Not to mention that he has the athleticism and will to go down and scramble for a ball with guys 7-8 inches shorter than him. Defense made up a lot of his season highlights.

That’s his natural position. He was forced into playing that undersized 5 role.

Now that we have the new guys inked, who else do we need to make a run at a SECC ?!?!

Teams gonna have to gel relatively quickly for that to happen... we should have plenty of offensive firepower... it’s cohesion on defense that will determine how far we go.

Specifically I worry about defending on the perimeter... with all the new faces at guard.
