Correct. Injured in early February. He was averaging 18 points per game and hitting 34% from the arc prior to injury and those numbers and minutes played fell off a cliff after the injury.

He is left handed and injured his left arm/hand. Prior to the injury he had played in something like 85 straight games.

From the articles I have read, he is just what this team needs. A fiery, intense veteran that loves to get the crowd pumped up.

I agree, could be a perfect fit. My only worry is.. could it scare Jasper off? I'd much rather have Jasper and he hasn't enrolled yet.

Sills is a 2 and yes, his season went off the rails after his injury against MSU

He has the capacity to be a great shooter but when he’s off he’s off. He’s lethal with his left and when he drives that direction. He gets to the basket.

I think the take away is that he’s a tough player with a ton of energy and effort and that’s something we could use

King described Pearl wanting to use him as a veteran off the bench. Whatever that’s worth

If that’s the case then it sounds like Pearl sold him on having a chance at winning a championship

Meh, I would rather have Tyty or Scoot.

Well, of course, and if they want to be here they will be here. Not relevant to the Desi Sills convo.

King is now less confident Sills will pick Auburn. Quite the turnaround in 2 hours time

A few people seem to think Sills likes Auburn and would be a take but isn't a take this early.

JLee said he actually wanted to commit to Auburn last weekend and Auburn told him to hold off and they were being selective with their last spot so don't expect Desi to pick Auburn tonight

This both good and scary news. Good in that it seems our staff feels good about one of TyTy or Scoot coming and also Thor possibly staying. But bad in that if we strike out and miss out on Sills as well we have a problem with our depth at guard

Apparently the rivals guys think Thor is more likely to return now. The word has also been that they are saving a spot for Scoot so they could leave that spot open if he doesn't reclassify, unless he decides soon that he's going to the G-League. Based off zero information at all, I'm betting Scoot holds off on reclassifying and weighs his options now that the G-League is interested.

What's interesting is it doesn't look the G-League really helped any of the guys that went as far as draft stock. Green and Kuminga are both in the top 5 of most mock drafts, but they would have been there out of HS anyway. It's a tiny sample size, but I'm curious to see how it pans out (until we go back to players being able to go to the NBA out of HS).

But didn’t the G-Leauge pay Green like $500,000

Yep. I guess the point I was trying to make is that the G-League is probably a good idea for the elite, elite guys like Green and Kuminga who were both talked about as being the best players in HS. But if you're not in the absolute top tier, then it might not make much sense (see Daishen Nix and Isaiah Todd).

Yeah that's the catch...

500k and didn't hurt or help their draft position. Now, if you ask the random basketball fan who Jalen Green is vs asking them who Jalen Suggs is, I bet Suggs raised his profile the most this season. How much is that worth to these kids? Who knows.

I don’t know how you manage a roster with that many bigs. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great problem to have but you won’t be able to get Thor, Smith, Williams, Kessler and Cardwell the minutes they deserve without some major roster shuffling.

The odd man out seems like Cardwell. I wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer after next season.

It does make things interesting if Thor returns. Kessler and Cardwell are the two that are one position players and you have to work around. I think you can easily set up rotations to where Thor, Smith, and Williams are getting minutes at the 4 and 3. I think we see Williams as the do it all guy this year. He's got the vision and passing to create some struggles for teams at the 3.

I think Cardwell COULD still have a role if Thor returns. But only if Bruce pitches the idea of playing some 3 to Thor or Smith. To me, in modern basketball, I don't think either of them can defend at that position but I don't think it's impossible. I also don't think Thor would return if he doesn't think he is going to start. Nor would Kessler come if Thor was going to start over him..
