Edwards only scored 18 points, and they had 3 other people who scored at least 12. You should probably stick to defending Gus rather than giving your basketball hot takes.

I really didn't think he beat us. In bama fashion it felt like we beat ourselves. We are really bad at scoring the basketball. If you shoot 40% in that game you win by 12.

Looks like they got pretty good production across their starters. They shot 37% from the the floor and 26% from 3. Our offense was the problem tonight. You should beat a team when they shoot those percentages.

Lanier, we allowed Bama to shoot 59 threes because Bruce knew we couldn’t stay in front of Bama. That’s how good we are on defense right now

We held him to less than his season average. How we guarded Edwards is the least of my complaints from the game.

Solid post. McCormick willed us some tonight, but there is only so much he can do. He’s all slasher. Doesn’t have the passing or perimeter shooting to really extend his successes further into the game or better yet uplift his players. Thus, he invites the defense to pack the paint and then his skillset is neutralized. Doughty just had another off night.

Yes and it’s very situational. Not on a guy whose entire game is pull-up threes from five feet beyond the arc and blowing past people on a drive.

I get that but why is that? Why are we relying on two guys that are not SEC players at this point? Other than the fact that one guy is hurt.
I could see us losing but its more than that. We look very disorganized and disoriented. Some very bad passes and then a couple guys will make a incredible play and get us back in it. Crazy

I agree. Bruce should’ve got another PG. I’m more disappointed in some of the other seniors over those two though.

The big indicator for the game (and why we lost) is that their fourth highest scorer scored 12 points, ours scored 3.
The post about Samir and Jvon not being quality players is pretty spot on. Great in supporting roles but just not at the level that we need. Bruce should have brought in a grad transfer PG this year.
