Not true. We shoot more 3's than anyone

And that’s the only reason why we are within a sniffer’s reach from the tournament.

Yea. Not sure why everyone is so determined to get in the tournament. We won’t beat anyone.

Team has fallen flat on its face.

Yeah there’s a reason we can’t beat good teams and it’s why we won’t win a game in the tourney unless we get a lucky arse hot streak from the 3.

This season started with a bang with is ending with a whimper.

Because going one and done in the tourney >>>>> not getting in the tourney

It's really not. I'd rather have an NIT semi-final at Auburn than one and done in the NIT.

From a national perspective, everyone agrees being the last team in the NCAA is better than winning the NIT.

No one cares about the NIT

The whole point is to get to the NCAA tournament. Still on track to do that but have to go 2-0 next week

I’d rather a first round bounce than a NIT championship I think

for sure

I imagine it helps with recruiting to say we’ve been to the dance twice in a row and are building something here

Mainly because not making it into the tournament at all is worst than a short stay in the tournament. I saw a 16 seed defeat a 1 seed last year as well. Crazier things have happened than a nice little run that can help Bruce show recruits that we are not going away.

That's kind of the goal for the vast majority of programs.

It's Brannigan. Just a friendly reminder she's a teacher.

Um why would you not want to get in the tournament? Getting bounced early is better than not getting in.

My goal coming into the season was making it to the second weekend of the tourney. We aren’t nearly as good as I hoped we would be but that goal is still absolutely attainable. It’s just going to depend more on matchups and how well we come together over these next couple of weeks.

what short memories some on here have...

When Ellis was here, we thought it was great to get to the NIT in his first year, then his second too. Then when we went 3-4 to NIT, fans got tired of it, bc we didnt think he could get us to the NCAAs. :)

Fast forward almost 20 years later with only 1 NIT to show for us in basketball.

We want NCAAs. Yes, we want to go as far as possible, but even if we go 1 and done, to get there meant we had a pretty good team.

All of us want consistent pretty good teams with some really good to great teams thrown in there from time to time. so NO to NIT even if we win a few games...

If we had a young inexperienced team I could entertain an argument where playing multiple games in the NIT was better than being one and done in the NCAA but we aren't so it isn't. The end.

From a BBN student reporter:

Tres Terrell
@TerrellTres
A lot of respect gained for Bruce Pearl after seeing this. A player, who was once committed to his program, then decides to decommit and come to Kentucky, then beats you, and you’re still happy for the players success? That says a lot.
