Don't fall for their bullshite this week. "I'm glad you beat Georgia for us" "I'm an Alabama fan but" it's all Lies or a cowardly trick to make us go easy on them. I'm not saying be a maniac or a classless bunch of a-holes but just know.... It's fake camaraderie to soften the pain of what's coming. Remind them that Saban is gone and THIS is their normal now. Let them live in the Football hell they created for us. Remember how the Alabama fans you know treated you and respond accordingly.

besides, her son is a UTn grad and she hates DuBoser cause he looks like her mentally ill ex-husband, so i’ll cut her some slack

Just don't fall for the "we're happy for you" Crowd if it's disingenuous

Slipped up one time back in '92 when bama played Miami.
Never again.

"we're happy for you" Crowd
This crowd doesn’t really exist. Maybe for a short amount of time.
As soon as it becomes apparent that we’re rebuilding and they’re slipping, the media will begin its onslaught. Trees will be poisoned by their fans. False accusations will emerge.
These are the people who believe that “having too much Bama in them” excuses vile and criminal behavior.
It’s the most intense rivalry for a reason.

I live in a neighborhood, where seemingly for the last 15 or so years, well, the Saban years, every Saturday it was like all the Bama fan's were outside watching the game on their porches/decks and you would have to suffer through "roll tide roll" screams every time Bama did anything. Needless to say, the silence I heard yesterday was bliss. Such a beautiful fall day.

i explained my rationale in the game thread - but once we took the lead, i figured me not watching was good luck
besides, we have been dealing with significant destruction as our neighborhood wad one of the hardest hit - didnt get power back til Thursday, our Bama fan friend got hers back Friday but still no internet so all she could get was OTA which was TSIO on the local ABC channel
she was paying us back for keeping an eye on her place while she evacuated to her bf’s house north of town, so cold beer & hot chili on the first real fall day was pretty inviting
so i have no regrets

The house we moved into in 20 is the same way. On any given Saturday we would hear the cackling and “roll tide”s on Saturdays. We returned the favor Saturday. When the ball split the uprights my son and I were going nuts on our back area as the egg was cooking and the game finishing.
And the most beautiful part…complete silence on a beautiful fall afternoon from the ferals as they took the L at the hands of TN. The steak tasted sweeter. The fire was brighter. The air felt crisp. A Saturday afternoon that was perfect. A Saturday that has been missing for 10 years. What a day. Beating number one Georgia in their house. And the silence of Bama losing to TN. Perfect.
