Daniels but not because I think he's a better qb but because I think it limits hughs play calling and forces him to be more run heavy

Daniels has way better pocket presence, decisive, and gets the ball out quick when receivers are open, so yes I think he’s an upgrade.

Freeze and coaching is the issue so I feel bad for Arnold

The Freeze issue will play itself out in due time.

As long as the checks keep clearing the NIL bank, I don’t feel so bad about Arnold…but yeah?

…his “development” has definitely gotten fricked over on Hugh’s watch.

That said, although Daniels didn’t necessarily light it up today…he didn’t frick up either.

For now, I say go ahead and give Daniels the keys and let him take a crack at driving the big-rig as QB #1

It's not really going to matter I think. Freeze has established he has a significant problem identifying talented QBs, additionally he cannot coach up any QBs he has. Daniels was identified by Freeze and brought in, ergo he cannot be that good.

Jackson is good until the script runs out. When he actually has to process information on the fly, he sinks like a stone.

Jackson was pristine for 29 minutes against Georgia. He has the can-do.

yeah it is sad to see other teams today that are playing RFr that are better than out world beaters. It is time to move on. If Ashton still wants to redshirt then play Duece or Jackson in the Mercer game and be done with it. That way you can start & play daniels until then...then if we get to a bowl game play someone else.

We have a big thaw on our hands. Time to move on. We are playing way too much for QBs to be this bad

Probably but we only scored 1 TD (JA to Coleman) against one of the worst Defenses in the conference. Daniels was going to take a RS too so I see Hew starting JA going forward.

Did they coach him to miss wide open looks? At a certain point it’s the player, not the coach, on the field.

He's brought in two QBs who have gotten worse under his coaching. He's a horrible QB coach or a horrible talent evaluator. Either way, gotta go tomorrow.

I suggest opening up practice to the public for tryouts at QB

If you said HC instead of QB I'd be with you. Lots of dudes could have this team sitting at one loss right now with the current roster.

Daniels has only played in 1 game.

I could see him playing against Mercer and Kentucky to “clinch” bowl eligibility.

At the end of the day, JA cannot execute RPO. IF Hugh puts him out there and calls RPO over and over, JA will fail.

Had we run 50 times per game, we’d probably be 5-3 or 6-2.

Being run heavy would also allow for shot plays from play action. Instead we are depending on the WR and QB swing the same thing presnap. Other college QBs can do it, but JA is who he is at this point.

Does it matter? He led us to 0 touchdowns against a truly terrible defense.
or you could say he led us to points on every possession in the second half, and didn’t turn the ball over

i like the idea of letting Arnold start and lead us to a TD on that first drive, then put in Daniels the rest of the way

I would describe Arnold's history more of one not doing it, and his resume grows every week.

Every game counts, but there is 1 game on the schedule every year where you are throwing everything you have into it. Extra game planning, some special or different plays saved up for this game, etc. Bye week to prepare, huge recruiting weekend, coming back off the road, and night game at JH to boot (bonus). UGA was this year's game and that helped Arnold looked more competent than usual in the first half. Then UGA made some adjustments at half time (took the perimeter stuff away, etc...), and it all reverted to what we have seen all year. If he can't snap the ball and throw to 1 pre-determined spot, something bad is going to happen. Freeze isn't helping, but Arnold just doesn't have the capacity to help himself. He certainly isn't winning any SEC games for Auburn (would have been 0-5).

Let them compete using different scripts. Now we only need someone who can design those scripts.

The first half of UGA was a thing of beauty so anything is possible. The second half was a deer in the headlights.

Daniel’s didn’t amaze anyone but he was making good decisions and was decisive.

I watched the game again, and one thing I noticed is that, even when Daniels was pressured, he was able to avoid getting sacked and keep his eyes downfield, something I haven’t seen that much from Arnold. If Daniels could get some QB1 reps in practice, just him avoiding sacks and seeing the field could open up the big play passing for us. Giving our WR’s those 50/50 opportunities we’ve been looking for.
