Everyone is encouraged by bringing back an OL that seemingly did “fine” in pass blocking. And most agree we were very poor in short yardage run blocking.

Just for reference Bo was sacked 12 times last year on 323 attempts or once every 26.9 attempts.

TJ was sacked 11 times on 128 attempts a horrible once every 11.6 attempts.

So was the OL decent to good in pass pro or was Bo’s escaping the defenders the reason or a combination of all.

Just football discussion in the off season.

If we have to trot the same 35 year olds out on the offensive line this year we gon suck. Hopefully one of the few younger guys improves.

14 of the 23 sacks came from (6)Bama, (4)UGA, and (4)A&M.

They did fine against other competition, but they are just out-talented against those teams. I hope to see improvement this year.

If memory serves, we play those teams every year though

1 sack per 11 attempts isn’t good regardless of competition.

And we couldn’t pick up a 3rd and 2 against anyone.

I think Council is still struggling with his injuries. He may take the spot but for now I think Irvin has the heads up on him

Let’s play the if game that Calzada is somewhere in between Bo and TJ. So what 1 sack per 18ish attempts. 2-3 sacks per game and how many pressures. 8-10 per game? Hits? 4-5.

Poor Calzada

All you can hope is someone new emerges and/or another year of coaching, experience, strength and conditioning can help with some improvement. We don't have any 4-5 star linemen running through the door so hope is all you have sometimes.

You run with the horses in the barn. Am I encouraged we can increase our win total from last year with the same line? No

I am hoping they do better and get a key win or two is all I have at the moment.

With that said

15-0 Ship!

Amen. At this point I’m just hoping for 6 wins. I can talk myself in sunshine 8 wins.

Also have to hope whoever the QB is doesn’t run out of a clean pocket for no reason (Nix) or can’t go through their reads quick enough and holds on to the ball too long (Finley)

Was our worst OL last year by a fair margin. He was good 2 years ago, but I feel like injuries have basically done him in. If anyone on the OL is going to lose their spot, he's probably got the highest odds.

The OL is going to be bad like it has been for a few years.

That’s just how it’s going to be.

And there aren’t any young guys, except for maybe one, that can come in and give the OL a glimmer of hope.

2022: Auburn's 'Amazin's II - Electric Boogaloo' will finish a magical season in style with a 15-0 'ship.

Bo was great at making our OL looking average, not shite sandwich poor.

Didn’t say I expect 8 wins but ball bouncing the right way some things coming together that we don’t expect and getting a couple tossup type games at home in LSU and Penn State. If we lose both of those could be a train wreck season.
