Can he just go full-time? Would he be open to that or is he just doing us another solid?

Thankfully not Tim Jackson. If made permanent Rich McGlynn will not suffer cheating. The good thing is that doesn't matter any more. It's legal.

Would be interesting to see if he becomes a candidate.

One of the few higher-ups in the AD that would probably be universally accepted. Seems like a solid guy who's saved our bacon on more than one occasion.

Could be a test run for both parties

Seems like people either love or hate Rich for the same reason, he’s a stickler for compliance and pretty much single-handedly saved us during the Cam saga.

He also saved us from the basketball scandal.

Go ahead and build the man a statue

He is really the only guy to go toe-to-toe with the NCAA and make them his bitch and make them issue a statement of no wrongdoing. That's important. Never happened before.

I'm not sure Rich has the vision we need for AD but he has a documented history of taking something that seemed problematic on the athletics front and going "no no, we can do this/make this work, trust me."

And that is valuable. Not only the basketball scandal and Cam, but the hiring of Bruce Pearl as well. Rich was heavily involved in clearing hurdles both internally and externally with that hire.

It’s a solid move for the time. Like someone mentioned it gives both parties an idea if it is something they want to proceed with.

I don't think anyone associated with AU 'hates' him, maybe got aggravated with him for making them do things right. As others have said, he kept our noses clean when dealing with some pretty shady things, and he has the respect of the NCAA, which isn't nothing (although it doesn't carry as much weight as it used to).

At the very least, he's a steady hand until we find someone who can handle all aspects of the position.

Sounds like a win, win for everybody. Hopefully, we can make it permanent.

Good for compliance, but how good will he be for all sports best interest. I think ADAG was really good for the "everything school" part of it, whether you liked his choice for football or not. Having multiple sports being competitive in the playoff level several times is something to be noted.

Much like Gus it was time for ADAG to go. Way to many burned bridges.

In these changes with NIL I want us to compete but stay legal and I think he will work with On to Victory to make sure we stay within the lines.

I do not want a compliance/audit type guy running the athletic department.

In the age of NIL where compliance is seemingly matters less by each passing day is this a good thing? Not arguing for either side because I don't know enough about it

Seems like NIL rules could constantly change, so could be a good thing

Rich was a good choice for interim. Your other option was Tim Jackson. I thought it would have been General Burgess and I am sure he is involved.
