From 247 @Steve Wiltfong
“This crowd was unreal,” Katy (Texas) High Top247 offensive tackle Coen Echols said. A verbal to Texas A&M, Echols has was excited to get back to The Plains and see this historic game. “I’ve never experienced anything like it. Coach Freeze is taking Auburn places and it’s happening sooner than you think.”

I hate to pile on Koy, but how does a receiver so shitty that he can’t get on the field, even be put in that situation with the game on the line?

Opens recruiting thread after the biggest, most exciting game of the year with the most recruits on our campus in recent memory and reads two pages of punt returner.

Seeing that clip of the recruits partying in the stands, dont you know they are lighting up the phones of LJ McCray, et al, saying brother you are missing it, this place is special

And I have to hand it to Walker White, that kid is doing everything in his power to recruit this class.

The difference between yesterday and 2021 is we now have coach who can take advantage of that atmosphere and (hopefully) use it to his advantage.

On the vistor list for 2024 most of those recruits are well known to the board except this Cal Bates fella, Ive heard no mention on him.

CB out of Tampa, top 100, ninth ranked CB, leaning heavily to FSU.....and takes a trip all the way to Auburn on FSUs biggest weekend.

Anyone know anything about him?

I’m not familiar with him but if there are talk early this week that he’s someone to keep an eye on I will check him out.

We are excited about ‘24 class and guys in the stadium last night but that ‘25 class is stacked and was packed with elite talent also in the stadium.

Hopefully the good outweighs the bad from last night with the recruits who were in the stadium. I’ve got to think the atmosphere was crazy the entire time.

Trust me when I say this. Recruits don’t care who wins and loses. Obviously no player wants to come to a train wreck program but every recruit thinks they can be the guy to change things and if they don’t think that then you probably don’t want them on your team

I was asking the same thing about the Bates kid. Never heard of him at all then he just shows up to the iron bowl. Hopefully freeze can work magic

Atmosphere was bonkers. Legit May have been the loudest game I’ve been to from start to finish, and that is truly saying something.

Corch,

Im curious our interest or focus. We definitely need another true corner in this class and this kid is six foot two.

He switched from a decent receiver to CB mid season and his stock surged.

I notice he decommited from LSU less than two weeks ago.

Services said he was leaning FSU but maybe that is not the case. Course he also officialed to bama in the summer so who knows.

3* OT Favour Edwin

quote:

You see the foundation being laid,” he said. “They are just a few players away. You can see that. They have a really good foundation. Auburn just needs a few more pieces, and they have them in this class. They have good receivers, good linebackers, some DBs and a good QB coming in.”

And he has reasons why the Tigers could be his pick.

“The whole place is a family atmosphere,” he said. “You can see the way their fans fight for their team. That just says a lot about a place. You need support and Auburn has it.”

Says he will pick soon. Finalists are Auburn, Bama, Clemson, and UF

What stands out the most about Auburn for Garrett right now?

“Definitely the way they carried themselves through the whole game that was up and down,” Garrett said. “They kept their composure the whole time, even after the game. Just keeping the guys up and building the family with them. I liked that.”

Auburn is getting in the mix with ‘25 4* DL Christian Garrett. Top 100 kid right now and a top 10 DL. He’s in no hurry and said he’ll be back to Auburn

These don't mean shite if we don't load up on some SEC caliber offensive linemen. We have to stock up on the trenches.

They're coming man. The last two classes we've gotten the Lew's and Carter's. Hopefully we can add the Texas A&M kid and the Edwin to complete a good Highschool haul along with a solid Juco OL boost. Another portal lineman after that and we might be back to top half SEC depth again. Gus couldn't even get lineman to even seriously consider us.
