Also, if anyone was thinking like this that is the most little brother mentality I've ever heard from Auburn. Go hire the best guy to beat him

I am pretty sure they only wanted Steele as a bridge hire. They were essentially firing what Gus did wrong but not yet firing what Gus did right: the recruiting networks, locking down the rest of the coaches for a continuation.

Everyone was content with the defense. Just needed to go in a different direction offensively. I agree with you. Hiring Steele would have kept it from being a complete rebuild.

Hopefully we have gotten to the point where the major boosters realize winning is more fun than a coach schmoozing you

But you've got to make them feel special.

It’s amazing that anyone would still try and defend this fart hose (Harsin) after watching that video. The guy literally did nothing right at Auburn.

If the PTB botched a strong hire last time I hope those asshats don't try and feed us Grimes this time

The only Grimes I'll be okay with coming to Auburn is Elon Musk's ex doing a concert in Neville Arena.

.

-Made a high star recruit and his family wait at the ATL airport for 2 hrs before picking them up

-Promised recruits he'd come watch them practice, and would no show

-The Boise crew didn't understand why anyone would report on recruiting, and didn't want writers around.

-Bobo would have to drag Harsin to recruiting meetings

-They were supposed to attend a high level nationally televised high school game, and showed up late. UGA, Clemson and even UAB had folks there at the start, AU staff rolled in after halftime

-Harsin and coordinators wouldn't do in home visits.

-Harsin would go watch his son play every Friday night instead of going to scout every now and then.

Harsin and Derek Mason were having a disagreement on Defensive line strategy.

Mason - "Just trust me on this, I've been a head coach in this league a lot longer than you have..."

Harsin- "At what, Vandy???"

Another recruit and his family travelled to AU on a Sunday for one of his official visits and was scheduled to meet Harsin.

No one at the athletic dept could find or get in touch with Harsin, so they had to go "Well, sorry kid, we can't find him ???"

PAM-

indicated Billy had convinced Steele to stay on as DC. But wanted to meet with the 5 powerbrokers. Greene said no.

Venable, thought we were about to make a deal, but then he backed out.
