We need a recruiter and a program builder. Gus put up good number for the class, but was never recruiting positions of need (OL and WR). Harsin seems to have just been in over his head at an SEC school. I like to think he just didn't realize the magnitude of the work that would be involved.

Why weren’t these guys reporting on this stuff as it happened?

that's what i'm wondering...
also as someone else mentioned here, they did say that harsin would attend his sons games on friday nights instead of recruit. i don't hate that and understand. but you have to be willing to make some compromises to win in the SEC

Harsin should have chosen another profession if he wasn't willing to miss a few of his son's games to help renew the lifeblood of the program he was in charge of.

They were but like they say in that podcast, they had to also walk a fine line as to not alienate themselves from the program.
Apparently a lot of the coaches did not appreciate them being there reporting on recruiting and would make snide comments, etc…..have to think those coaches were definitely the taters as all the other coaches are going to be used to that.

Rumors swirled around Mason’s departure while several Auburn players opted for the transfer portal. One incident came about during Auburn’s search for a defensive line coach that resulted in hiring former Tiger defensive lineman Jimmy Brumbaugh. According to sources, Mason and Harsin disagreed about the process of selecting the defensive line coach. Mason wanted more control of the situation since the D-line coach would be his direct report. Harsin as the head coach felt he should make the call with input from Mason. Harsin and Mason had an interaction where Mason said “I’ve been a head coach in this league longer than you have.” Harsin replied, “Oh, you mean at Vanderbilt?” according to people familiar with the situation.

Hoke was headed to a 1 on 1 meeting to get his arse chewed by Harsin about stuff he had been saying, posting, tweeting about Harsin and staff when he got a call not to come that Harsin was gettng fired.
Is that true I have no idea but sounds about right.

Was it Hoke, or was it Justin Lee? Because Justin Lee has been ruthless in his criticism of Harsin on Twitter since basically the Penn State game.

Bye
@CoachHarsin
. Hope you took the stairs on the way out.
Auburn has support. Don't believe me? Nov. 12 under the lights in Jordan-Hare.
Just watch.

Hoke
Hoke's been fairly even-keeled and neutral about him on Twitter during the season.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if Harsin got the two confused. Similar names, both been on the beat for the same amount of time, and I think they're roommates.

From what I understand Harsin had been using Hoke as his propaganda piece and one time this past weekend he said something he shouldn’t have

I don’t care for Justin Lee in the least, but he hit the nail on the head.

Boom. Savage by Justin.
I wish Harsin the best but here wasn't for him. Good bye

Hoke tweeted after the Arkansas game something about he didn’t know how Harsin had not been fired yet….something to that effect.

Damn, I wish I had been following Justin Lee on twitter sooner but I haven't been back on twitter but a week or so.

True story: I was on my way to meet Bryan Harsin at Noon. He was unhappy with something I wrote over the weekend. No idea what, wasn't too worried, but figured I'd appease him. Ten minutes before the meeting, Auburn released the news. Pulled over, started working. Fun times.

Is the $30 annually worth it? Haven't been on that site in the better part of two decades as just a poster on the boards.
