Just consistently hitting the short throws would be a nice improvement. I've seen some people say how he "isn't that good" etc... but man 62% is a much higher completion percentage than we've experienced recently and puts us into the middle of the pack in the SEC versus dead last.

Seems like a high character, good leader kind od kid. Definitely made the QB room better.

I'd love to know you concluded that based off of what he said .

He gave a PC answer as you would expect any coach to do. "We got another guy in because TJ left". Ahhh yes, the decision only fell upon TJ leaving. Had he not left we wouldn't have taken Thorne .

"Robby handled it well" - Robby is literally stuck here until next season. He has no option other than to "take it well"; he can't leave. He in fact hasn't taken it well in real life, but who cares? He'll transfer out next season when he can just like Finley did (which again everyone knew was going to happen for months). Until then he has to play nice and say the right things.

Some of these guys conveniently forgot that a few months ago they were saying that we wouldn't even take a transfer QB because Freeze made a few marginally positive comments about Ashford when he was hired (remember? he was "excited to work with him" ).

Now that we have landed a clear-cut starter whom he they 1000% nudged into the Portal (the kid literally committed here without even visiting), the same guys want to pretend that there is still a chance that Ashford is the guy because the same HC made a few more completely meaningless interview comments.

One needs to be able to read through comments a bit more analytically. It's only ever implied that bringing in a transfer QB is done because "we need 4 on the roster" lmao. Every coach save for Deion who has brought in an obvious starter/replacement has made that comment in one form or another. Do some of these guys expect the HC to blatantly say "yeah our current starter stinks, why do you think I brought Jimmy Joe in?".

The idea that bringing in Thorne had anything to do with Finley leaving is comical. Of course for Freeze it presents a convenient opportunity for him to pretend like the plan all along wasn't to snatch someone else's starter.

And of course all summer/fall camp you're going to hear comments about how "the starter hasn't been decided" either lol.
