Same. No way we're paying Arnold 1.5 million to come and practice football for a year behind someone else. If I'm wrong I'll own it but that's just silly to even suggest

I think there's still kids out there that commit to a school and a coaching staff and so long as they get their's they don't mind waiting their turn. 3 years is a long time on the bench but he'll still have 2 to play and we pray we only have him 1.

This is why I can’t understand the thought process going on in freezes head. We’re looking to bring a guy in that has struggled in the sec at best. I’d have taken Malik on the 9-3 record alone.

Lets be real, this is obviously being thrown out there to pacify the people who want to whine about Jackson Arnold. Then weeks from now when the mysterious Playoff QB doesn't materialize (because why would it?), you'll hear the usual: "he was telling our staff he was coming, but something changed" and "it was set to happen, but his school upped his NIL offer at the last minute and he decided to stay".
That way they get to pretend like we had a deal set with someone "better" than Arnold, but unfortunately it was out of our hands...so its a good thing we also got Arnold!

Charlie 5 acting like we entertained options that ultimately just wouldn’t sign with us no matter what we offered made me mad this morning. If we can’t convince them with money we’re screwed.

The playoff qb shite is made up. It's fun to speculate but I think it's driven by fans not being excited by anyone in this current litter of transfers.

His point is legitimate. He is talking about guys like Marcel Reed who were thrown around as rumored targets. He plays on a team that is better than our own, and A&M has even more money than we do. Why would A&M let him leave without just matching our offer? And why would he leave a place where he is already succeeding at to come to a bigger uncertainty where he has to learn a new system, if his current school can also just match whatever we are offering him to stay?
The same thing applies to Sellers at South Carolina. That is his homestate school, and they just signed his younger brother. South Carolina has the money to match whatever we would be offering. They just won 9 games; why come to a 5 win team?
These are the things that fans need to understand. QB's that are already on SEC/Big Ten teams are going to be very very very hard to pull because those schools have money too.

I’d be happy with Jackson Arnold. I don’t think he is a grand slam or anything, but he has the skill set to be a Chad Kelly type QB in our system. It’s just hard to really judge this past season for how injured they were and how bad their OC did.
Maybe there is another out there that isn’t in the portal, who knows.

He's the best available this cycle. If Freeze gets him, good job. He could've done much much worse.

Bo Nix was good here. He had limited weapons around him but was still good. Malzahn’s offense at Auburn just wasn’t going to deliver huge numbers for a qb.

Exactly why Freeze shouldn’t have shite the bed last portal season and used up all his good graces by running it back again with PT. If he had a good 8+ win season in 2024, people would’ve been understanding if he started Walker or Deuce in 2025.
