I think singleton tomorrow.
Worried about Malcolm portaling after that, but we’ll try and keep him to a certain point.

Sorry someone already posted that Amaris is back. I am a bit behind on the uptake. This is just huge for us.

Just a renegotiation.

I'd hate losing Malcolm, but if he can't be logical and wait one year or just share some snaps then Bye.....

I have exactly zero concern about Malcolm.

Why? Simmons will still have his role. 2nd string slot that gets about 30ish snaps because Singleton will play the slot and the X position as well.
This fear of upgrading the room and losing players have to stop. I love Simmons but if he bounces with his role as a true sophomore I’m not sure what the staff could do. Simmons and Cain at slot isn’t very comforting to think about.

Why? Both of them seem like what you ask for at the position. Very good to elite quickness and quick twitch movement correct? They seem perfect for the slot to me.

I think you answered your own question.

Some of it has to do with money as well, singleton isn't cheap and we got malcolm pretty cheap last year. Similar players, similar pay.

Well then maybe Cain can be the one to leave?

We still need to get Singleton first. Hopefully he will decide or announce this morning so we can work on our next move.

Gonna renegotiate every year. There is no loyalty it’s about the $$$
Sports teams gonna have to work on culture and things like that to help retain talent, but make no mistake it’s about the $$$

Freeze needs to start putting players in the NFL again. At the end of the day, that’s still the goal of the players.

Just give them contracts at this point. That would at least have the possibility of slowing down this wholesale transferring every year.
This is a disaster.

quote:I have the contrary opinion that this will work itself out into some sort of a middle ground as long as you have professional roster management. You pay the best players and get them in. You are then forced to give them enough touches for them to be productive which will hopefully lead to team success. If someone underperforms even with chances given, they are gone or take a cut and their funds move to bump others who are lower on the totem pole and top up others who exceeded expectations. Just have to run it like a business operation until there are rules. I am sure there are enough NFL GM types who would love to do this job since without a collective bargaining agreement, the players don’t have much negotiating power other than the fact that they can threaten to leave. Of course the NCAA can diminish all of this by bringing back the one year sit down after transfer rule if there are no mitigating circumstances, but they are spineless.

They do have contracts but all the power is with the players… remember NIL can’t be for enticement, performance and things like that.
However there needs to be some rules surrounding NIL, transfers, etc. the entire system is broken currently

Nah they dont really have contracts. Kaden Proctor got NIL at Iowa just to leave shortly after.
If a coach gets bought out, a real contract associates cost of acquisition. Time to treat these contracts like more than paper and treat these kids as men that signed papers..
