I havent watched Brown actually throw the ball. Is he any good? I dont care about his stats vs lower teams. I know he is a runner, but that wont work in the SEC. He is not Cam. I know Ashton makes good decisions and can toss it.

This is a tricky plan if we bring Brown in. I heard he was already getting 2nd day draft looks. So you're not bringing him here for a QB competition. If true, he's coming to start. That means you probably lose Deuce and definately lose Ashton. Now we're in a rebuild year. Hopefully we can win at least 6 games if that happens.

They should pay Deuce whatever it takes to sit a year. Learning a new offense from a QB that has seemingly mastered it is a good thing.. he will only be a redshirt freshman, there shouldn't be a rush for him to start. Also don't want to be relying on having to get another transfer QB the following year.. keeping Deuce is a must regardless of it its Brown or Daniels next year.

Homie what? If Jonny Manziel and Diego Pavia can run in the SEC then a dude built like Tim Tebow can too.

As far as his arm goes he can make throws to all parts of the field and isn't afraid to challenge a window. And he usually wins. He will miss some throws here and there but they're rarely bad ty simpson level misses. If we get him there is absolutely every reason in the world to boog out. tRant will be on red alert the day we land him. Watch.

Yeah, I dont understand that either. Brown is 6'3" and 230lbs. Mobile QBs are the ones that give the good SEC defenses fits trying to stop.

If Brown does come, he is immediately the best QB on the roster at that moment.

He isnt the most accurate QB ever, but from what I have seen, he has a big arm and can make every throw with that strong arm. He isnt the type of mobile qb that immediately looks to take off running at the first hint of pressure. He hangs in the pocket and moves well in the pocket while still looking to throw.

Once he does decide to take off running, he is hard to bring down because he is a big dude. He looks pretty fast and extremely athletic on the run.

The biggest factor for Brown re: coming to AU is he knows the system. It would be a good opportunity for him to get some NFL tape out against better competition. It would be good for Golesh and Auburn football to have a QB familiar with the system to make a smooth transition. I would prefer Brown to come be the starter for a year and hang onto Deuce for the future. But if he doesn't and we have to roll with AD and DK, I would be cool with that too. Ideally, we could get Brown and keep Deuce too. I dont think Ashton's deep ball is good enough to really make this new offense roll.

Are you saying that bringing in a draft prospect QB with proven success in the offense means we are in a rebuild year?

I'm saying replacing 4/5* SEC talent at QB and WR with USF talent while going to a 9 game conference schedule might have us struggling to get 6 wins next year.

This is such nonsense logic.

Dude, Tennessee's QB (who led the conference in passing yards) came from Appalachian State, and their #1 receiver (who led the conference in receiving yards) came from Tulane. They just so happen to run the same offense as Golesh. Kiffin's best WR last season was Tre Harris, who came from Louisiana Tech and was second in the conference in receiving. Do I need to tell you where Vanderbilt's QB and #1 receiver came from?

Newsflash: there are players at G5 schools who can succeed in this conference. Furthermore, your vaunted "4/5* SEC talent" has grossly underperformed and hasn't won shite here regardless. Who are we even talking about here? If you bring up Perry Thompson I'll slap the teeth out of your mouth.

You hired a top offensive coach who's previous team had one of the most explosive offenses in the country. He reserves the right to evaluate his own damn former players who he saw every day in practice. Furthermore, Golesh was a successful OC in this very conference. Don't you think he knows what will work and what won't at QB and WR? He has seen and coached the talent in the SEC. If he thinks that he has players at USF that are capable of playing in this league, who the frick are you to say otherwise? What, they were "3-stars" out of HS? There are players in the NFL who were 0-stars.

Fernando Mendoza was a 2 star prospect ranked 2185 over all prospect and 134 out of QBs. Now he will be a Heisman finalist. It’s all about development and the system.

we started the season with a 5-star at QB, how did that work out for us?

I think you guys have lost your minds. Tenessee...blah blah blah. Lane Kiffen...blah blah blah. Are you really trying to compare Golesh and USF to these examples?

Let me help you out sport. Golesh, USF, Brown and his amazing 3* WRs finished 4th this year in the AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE (ACC)! Now you clowns think they're gonna bring this incredible talent to the SEC and win against a 9 game conference schedule???

I would trust Aston over Brown. I've at lest seen AD play against SEC defenses and his accuracy and decision making is solid. Golesh said he builds his offense around his player's talent. Let's see it!
