Does the 30M include the 20M of rev sharing?

So of the 13 USF players we’ve signed, 11 are on offense, which means we’re rolling into the 2026 9-game SEC season with essentially a G6 offense that mustered 18 points vs UF and 12 vs Miami in their two P4 games.

A&M scored 3 against Miami in the biggest game of their year, at home. Whats your point?

You can't cherry pick like that. Texas A&M scored 3 against Miami.

Dude, we’d have won 3 more SEC games last season if the offense could’ve scored 18 points.

I asked that earlier. Yes, it does.

Texas is estimated to be spending $40M for comparison.

OTOH, UK has $ to spend because they spent little to nothing on their freshman recruiting class.

Better squad than auburns put on the field since 2019 even with all the 5 stars you’re fooled by

I doubt we spent a lot on our incoming freshman either. Curious about UK as they probably spend alot more toward basketball

From how I understand it, the school has 25m in total for paying players. Cohen “sold” the 2026 opening game to be played in Atlanta for 5m which gives us the 30m. It isn’t like Deuce had money set aside for him. His money would have come out of the 30m pool which obviously reduces or removes money to be spent on other sports.

I could be wrong, I’ve been wrong before.

I believe that is correct and the football program isn't getting 100% of the $20M revenue share either. Obviously they are going to get the overwhelming majority of it, but not all.

Deep breath... We were dead under Hugh with HS recruiting, not sure Portal would have been better. Getting 9 players from the same team on offense will be huge (See Indiana) as the understanding of what should be done is there. Which means they can play fast, have timing down, between QB and receivers will help. They are not as talented as the WR we loss, but have to believe we will be significantly better on offense.

Overall, our Transfer Portal is ranked 14th, High School 30th and overall 23rd with 44 new commits. LINK

Now we look at our activity (Not behind a paywall). of our Portal Activity, again using 247. LINK

Out 36, incoming so far 24...

5 Star Lost: Cam Coleman (Huge Loss, but understandable)
4 stars lost:
Eric Singleton (WR)
Deuce Knight (QB)
Xavier Chaplin (OT) (Did not play like a 4 star)
Jay Crawford (CB)

Malcolm Simmons (WR)
Horatio Fields (WR)
Perry Thompson (WR)
-------------------
Incoming 4 Stars:
Bryson Washington (RB) Huge Upgrade
Byrum Brown (QB) (For one year, this is the better option over Deuce).

Overall, I have to give the coaching staff kudos... If they are also cleaning up the locker room then I like it even more.

Well there you have it.

We should have spent most of the NIL to retain the squad that gave us a 5 and 7 record.

Save some funding to pay players when they demand extra pay or they dont get on the plane.

Some funding for a disco adjacent to the practice field so the offense can continue to goof off while the defense practices.

Some funding for partying the night before games.

And pass a school regulation for freedom of speech for the players to say FU Auburn on social forums, heck take the NFL route and allow them to replace the Auburn in the end zone with FU Auburn.

We also need a redimed in the stadium for all the carpal tunnel syndrome of fans with all this "wringing of hands".

I went to Auburn during the Pat Dye transition and just long for his toughness...."I don’t know if we’re going to win, but when we get through, they’ll know they’ve been in a football game".

I don't think the importance of this can be overstated, which is another reason I'm not unhappy about bringing so many USF players on-board. They already know the kind of ship Golesh runs and will help set the culture and identity. Hell, it's been at least 10 years since I felt like we had an identity and solid team culture.

Hey I hope so. I am merely pointing out that we are rolling into an SEC football season with essentially a G6 core of talent level on offense (with the exception of RB where we’re loaded). Them’s the facts. Hope it works.

SIAP

Any word on Antonio Coleman returning? I see he’s not been picked up yet according to 247

Any other returners might come back, especially OL?

but

Nobody wants to confront the fact we are bringing in 17-18 G5 players and losing 17-18 to P4 schools.

And that ‘83 team was loaded with NFL talent on offense like Tommie Agee, Lionel James, Bo Jackson, Steve Wallace, Ben Tamburello, Ed West, Ron Middleton, Chris Woods, just off the top of my head.
