In the grand scheme of things if money was no issue you would want all of those dudes back because youre allowed up to 105 scholarship players on our roster- not just 85.

We are not Billy Beane. As fans we just want to win.

I don't know if it was JGT, it might have been Hoke or someone else, but someone was def putting the $30 mil number out there.

What do you think our record needs to be to give recruits and fans confidence in CAG? Is 7-5 good enough? Feel like 8-4 is a promising first year result. Yes I know it’s been ages since we’ve won 8 games so I’m probably shooting too high. 8-4 just looks so much better than 7-5 lol

I never said he did. But he denies ever saying Auburn's NIL chest is 30 million. I spent time and effort typing out what hokanson said.

Looks like for now we are working with (25 million to 30 million)

Brother I am not knocking down you at all. I appreciate you typing that all out. This was directly pointed at JGT. Dude has pretended to be in the know for a long time and I just get annoyed with him.

You are one of my favorite posters on this board sorry for any misunderstanding

Rejects- an "insider" said we paid Arnold 1.3 million, Deuce 850,000, and AD 200,000.

He said Bryce Brown's base is 3.5 million

All I know is we are a losing program since 2020.

There is always player turnover with a new staff.

I’d be fine with the rest of them staying, but they are checking out their choices too.

It’s not personal. It’s business. For everybody.

I guess it’s hard to have 2 highly paid QBs on any roster.

Speculation that it’s Tegra or Noah

Ghost seems to be implying it’s Tegra

Question: Who foots the bill if we put 105 on scholarship? General Athletic Dept funds?

The reason I ask is because I follow softball closely. They are allowed 25 on full scholarship, but the team settled on 23 (even cutting 3 returners from last year). It's even lower now at 22 because one player had to medically retire.

Starting to think this is a pattern and almost no roster on any campus will be maxed out.

each university is allowed to pledge $20M for paying athletes. Where it goes is at the discretion of the university. This should not affect the amount of scholarships given out. Just the payment amount for play.

I'm referring to athletic scholarships, not NIL. We are hearing people say "the age of the walk-on is over," and now we are seeing clear examples of rosters not reaching their max. Just makes you wonder.

Football went to 105 scholarships, but in return they no longer have walk ons, grey shirts, blue shirts and all the other things to get under the limit.

Auburn will spend the majority of the 21 million NIL money on football and basketball. In return I read where they were offering more schollys to womens sports versus NIL.

Regarding the 21 million in NIL budgeted by the school portion. All SEC schools have that, and the bigger programs outside the SEC. That means there is about 4 times the money chasing the same amount of players.

We lost a lot to the portal, but all that money is not extra to be spent, because some of it was spent to keep the remaining players out of the portal. An extreme example, Atkins, his pay probably tripled at least and deservedly so. Im certain many got raises to stay put.

Then the portal opens and we say, spend the money we paid Deuce on OL, it aint there. We are spending 2 million more on the QB room alone, without Deuce.

Seems the coaches have done a very good job filling holes. Edge is a concern but we have Jared Smith, Faulk, Phillips, and Wilkes there so it isnt completely bare. But the big concern is OL hopefully that is fixed in the next week.

Been waiting for this to explode.

There’s track and field sports, swimming and basketball, all of which are both men and women, so how long before title-nine kicks in with the one sided nature of football. Some players take planes while others get bussed. Million dollar contracts are going to eventually raise legal ire elsewhere and the courts will at least listen. I’ve been thinking it’s just a matter of time.
