Jay Crawford to the portal.
Can’t say I’m shocked.

Soon College football will just have to hold a old school, pick em , at the beginning of every season. Just line all the captains up and they get to pick a player one at a time.
New teams at the beginning of every season

Ah yes, that keeping Durkin to retain players is working out swimmingly!

Worst position group on the D. Being the best of the worst is something. Would love to have kept him, but all of his position coaches are gone and I am sure UGA could be involved here in terms of $.

Apparently we are very thrift at every position but Preston Howard's.

Yeah I'm curious why you aren't surprised. That's a big blow to the defense. He's a NFL player. Hopefully they pay up and keep him, but its not a good sign to be losing a guy like that who is a starter.

Crawford would be silly to not at least see what he can get in the market. Didn't he hit the portal after the Music City bowl for like a week?

Okay, so this one hurts a bit, first one I've been truly disappointed by.

A poster on the corner wareaglegsu who people say is plugged in said Crawford was going to enter regardless and thinks he lands at Miami. Also believes kayin and amaris enter as well. All three have been planning on entering regardless of who had been hired.
Hoke posted that he talked with Crawford about if he plans on remaining in portal or will come back and Crawford said it depends. Hoke believes this is nil/rev share related and Crawford wants around $1M but Auburn isn't interested in offering that much or close to that.
Hoke thinks the staff isn't going to give contracts based on emotion and are very strict on their evals and aren't committing to desperation deals to retain roster. They'll prioritize a balance of proven production and accountability before handing out big deals.

Good grief, if we are at the point guys like Crawford are getting a mil a season CFB is truly cooked. Impossible to retain a roster at that point. He's a good player, but damn.

They bragged about having 30 mil to spend. Pay that man, keep the defense instead of having to rebuild it and lets keep it moving. We aren't going to find anyone better in the portal for less, and even then we have to hope they are a personality fit and get the scheme.. pay this man and don't be silly.
