We need a defense of a starting 11 and a DL where we can rotate 10 deep

We need to play about 30 players on defense if we are truly going to go warp speed on offense. And better have another 7-8 that can grab snaps in 3 score games.

How many do we need if we're choosing violence?

I always loved Muschamp as DC. Is he washed up at this point now though?

Figured when UGA took him from DC to Analyst that he was done. Maybe it was just a didn’t want to recruit anymore thing?

I think it had to do with his son being at Vandy and him wanting to be there on Saturdays. Champ still has the fire.

Same here …. and yes.

No fire remaining….. that’s why I always thought it was ludicrous that his name was even being entertained in our three most recent HC searches. He flamed out in his last stint with AU, and had friction with other staff.

His kid played or plays at Georgia. He was also getting paid by South Carolina? He knows defense and knows the south. He’s knows where and how to ID defensive studs.

Certainly not the ideal situation. Especially with Blocton because I dont think our DL room is as deep as our DB room.

I just have to keep reminding myself that the portal works both ways. Hell, the best player on the team this season (Xavier Atkins) was a transfer portal guy who came in without much fanfare at all.

Let it bleed.

Toughens you up...

Carde Smith is in the portal. Former OT commit who went to Colorado. Would like to bring him back.

I’m not sure about that. Wasn’t it Corch that said something about watching Smith in high school, and he didn’t look too impressive?

Downvote it all you want - but I bet if your kid was exceptional needs you wouldn’t, selfish pricks. Thank God he blessed your kids, is what you should be doing.

Some of y’all treat this like an “idol” & ya need to read what the big book says about that. I intentionally creep instead of posting these days because so many of you are just obnoxious & ignorant; realized I did treat AU sports like an idol so I stepped back to focus on what truly matters. Supposed to be the “auburn family” & some of you act like each other are terrorists. Worse than some of the 14-19 year old kids I’ve coached in HS. I really don’t get it. No agree to disagree…just hurling insults bc you have different perspectives. That’s pathetic.

Just get a pair of gloves & hash it out keyboard warriors. Grow up.

Can everyone just remember the portal hasn’t even opened yet?

I don’t doubt the guys who have announced are leaving, but please stop acting like we aren’t gonna pull 30 guys in from the portal.

Will they be studs or not - time will tell, but Jesus the lack of any reasonable patience with some of you schmucks is just exhausting

Dont get all high and almighty over a word.

I would hope each and every one of us would make a bully of special needs kids rue being seen in public ever again.

As for your idol message I like it.

Apparently our Auburn legacy is too good for us.

I would rather be accused of cheating or lack of morals. What I do not want is to be a fricking stepping stone school. A mere Kent State, a USF...and Duke the scoop is being a damned fool pretending like we cant be a football factory again. Auburn isnt some remedial training school. DukeTheScoop on Blocton that I stole from another board:

quote:

I can honestly say, I've talked to people very very close to the situation. This wasn't all about money; this is about Malik feeling as if he wants to get to a program that is more of a fit for who he is today than who he was a couple years ago. Who Malik has matured into, this program may not be a fit for him. I want to give kudos to Auburn's financial staff, Warsaw and his team, they did a lot to keep Malik. But it's one of those things where people can grow apart. Malik is feeling like it's time for a change. It's not about money. Me having inside knowledge about what the offer was, it wasn't about money. Auburn's offer was very competitive. I think a lot of people are upset about the defections, and they want to blame it on the new guys and say, ah they don't what what they're doing, blah blah... but it wasn't about the money for Malik Blocton. And that's okay. There are gonna be guys that want to get a new start. Guys that think 'there are things that I want to experience in college that I can't experience at Auburn.'"
