Correct. Freeze is focused on signing day right now. I’m not sure how that’ll work out for him, because portal players move quickly. But Ward not committing to Miami yet is a good sign.

I’ve never seen him play, so I can’t say that. I have seen McCall play though, and he would’ve been a big upgrade over PT.

Pink mentioned last December we signed just two portal players and filled in later. And he thought Hugh's primary focus had been (more) on high school with the intent to go harder into the portal once everyone's roster became clearer.

I love the passion. But we ain’t getting a portal QB unless spring absolutely stinks or Holden were to leave. Accept it.
You know our roster NIL budget is $10-12m per year, right? Freeze is not going to allocate 1.2 of that to a 1 year QB that won’t even improve the room. In the Freeze offense I think Thorne would be much better than Ward.
Plus we are going to be extremely young next season, talented but young. So expect plenty of mistakes and there isn’t a QB out there that makes us a National championship contender. In a year or so if the young QBs haven’t developed then Freeze might make a move but it ain’t happening.

Just like Ryan Williams is running between 600-800k per year right now. If Bama or Auburn pops off $1m that’s who’s getting him. That’s 1m per season. Insane.

Does anybody else remember the rumor that Freeze didnt want Mizzou WR coach Peeler because his 350,000 salary was too much for Freeze. And now we may be spending double for a double legacy.

I’d rather spend on an actual player than I position coach any day of the week.

Thats insane to me. Actual players are too flighty and they have physical issues that can interfere in the investment such as injuries. Position coaches are like fishing rods.
