Cam Newton halftime stats, 1st start back:
9/11 passing, 78 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 0 sacks
7 carries, 27 yards, 1 TD

Arm looks strong.

Cam throws a beautiful pass to CMAC for his 2nd TD pass of the day

ETA:

That's to cap off a huge 91 yard drive to tie the game in the 4th

Anyway, Panthers came up just short, but Cam still had a solid game for his first full game back

21/27, 189 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
10 carries, 46 yards, 1 TD

Gotta imagine his playbook is pretty shallow right now too.

Agree. He is running a vanilla offense right now. Very little practice with the current offense

I think the big emotional return will fuel him for a few games then it will all come down to earth.

It was good seeing him play again today. He played well and acted like his usual clown. Dude just cant help himself.

This is the year. Cam Newton has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.

Started him today in fantasy football against my biggest rival(all friends league) just to spite him. I learned a long time ago to never doubt Cam Newton. Easy 24 pts and cruising to the win. Only damn thing that went right this weekend

From what I’ve read, the Panthers wasted over $50M in guaranteed money over the last two years to sign and extend Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold (they also sent a 2nd rounder to the NYJ for Darnold) all because Tepper/Rhule were sure they were ready to move on from ol’ Cam.

Damn does Auburn BOT run the Panthers too??

24% completion percentage and a passer rating of 5.8. Im not sure Ive ever seen a passer rating that low

Unfortunately, the emotion has worn off and Cam is back to being the Cam he was at New England.

Shows when he got benched at the start of the 4th quarter.

Not a good sign from your HC....

I'm in the minority. Not a fan of bringing Cam back. Waste of money, in my opinion. Seriously what is the best case scenario? The guy is not going to get the Panthers in the playoffs with that O-line, for sure.

Obviously it's just my opinion and I would love to see Cam come back and light it up. I just have 0% confidence that will happen and then we've paid, what, $4.5 million to do it?
I'm not gonna say I told you so...but ..
