How is this even possible?
Alabama has not won a game of meaning all year and the SEC is going to award them the citrus bowl over us?

I’m on the “just get that 10th win” bandwagon.

Yeah this sucks. Wisconsin played well enough and will probably be ranked ahead of us, and get the Cotton Bowl. Alabama is getting a bump and will play Michigan. Meanwhile we get stuck with Minnesota with very little to gain. Maybe we’ll get lucky and get a surprise.

SEC doesn’t award them anything. Bowl sponsor picks who they want

Yep. Citrus gets first pick and doesn't have to take highest ranked, non-NY6 SEC or Big 10 team. Media wants Harbaugh vs Saban, and even though we beat them, name recognition has the media dick-riding Bama as a "no-brainer," "premier" pick. This is actually where our nationally recognizable underperforming offense tangibly hurts us, for those that wonder wtf does it matter.
They don't get it. They think Bammers will show up to a Michigan game vs a Minnesota game, but IMO their spoiled fans aren't going to show up to either. They would probably have higher attendance if against Minnesota after dwelling on it a couple of weeks and, at first, being disgusted for even being mentioned with them, but slowly realizing they'll crush'em even if Bama's players underperform from not meeting playoff expectations.
Meanwhile, Auburn fans would pack the house vs Michigan, a more difficult team but a blue blood we have only faced twice ever, vice either a propped up, though worrisome/likely inspired underdog similar to UCF in Minnesota, or a ho-hum, 2nd tier name team like Wisconsin we often face.
Unfortunately, we're going to get row the boat Fleck because media is selling name brand Bama, in first year not in the playoff, as a bargain pick, ranked behind Auburn or not, and Saban Harbaugh as too good to pass up. Media will sell Fleck vs Gus similarly.
I wouldn't rejoice yet 10 win season peeps, as they will be intensely motivated with Fleck and a shot at the SEC and a team that, regardless of close game performance, will be painted as beatable because 4th/5th in the SEC. And although this isn't 2017 where we blew our playoff shot and it was clear some players didn't want to be there, Gus's bowl teams haven't generally been spectacular. Hopefully we come out like against Purdue.

So would sugar bowl pick them over UGA because UGA was there last year?

I agree with this 100%. I cant imagine Alabama fans will fill the house at the Citrus bowl. Not after losing to us and LSU heading to the playoffs.

Sugar has to pick the highest ranked non playoff NY6 SEC team. Either UGA or UF.

This is our Bowl Agreements this year, not counting playoffs and I think I have them in order of selection
Sugar Bowl
Orange Bowl
Citrus Bowl
Outback Bowl
Music City Bowl
Gator Bowl
Liberty Bowl
Texas Bowl
Belk Bowl
Birmingham Bowl
Independence Bowl
If I am not mistaken, we only have 9 teams that are bowl eligible. So with LSU going to the playoffs, we wont have enough teams to fill the requirements. Not sure which bowl will be dropped.
SEC Bowl Teams
LSU
UGA
Florida
Auburn
Alabama
Texas AM
Tennessee
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Not eligible
Ole Miss - Pissed away their chance
Vandy - Same old same old
Missouri - Cheaters
Arkansas - LOL
South Carolina - Blew their wad against UGA
Sugar Bowl
Orange Bowl
Citrus Bowl
Outback Bowl
Music City Bowl
Gator Bowl
Liberty Bowl
Texas Bowl
Belk Bowl
Birmingham Bowl
Independence Bowl

Birmingham or Independence will be dropped. No way all the SEC slots don’t get filled before the last pick

When I watched Minnesota this year I'd be surprised if they can play with us. People don't give UCF credit for the amount of NFL talent they had on the field and the QB being a generational college QB.
The biggest issue against UCF was future NFL guys mailing it in on Auburn IMO. I don't see Brown, Dinson, and Davidson allowing that to happen.
Because of our offensive issues it wouldn't shock me if it is a close game but we should win against Minnesota. Also keep in mind how Gus' O looks if you don't have NFL DL.

SEC is not guaranteed an Orange Bowl slot. Orange Bowl is the highest ranked ACC team not in the CFP vs. the highest ranked SEC/Big10/Notre Dame team not in the CFP/Sugar/Rose.

Me too. And that seems more obtainable vs Minnesota than vs PSU, Michigan or Wisconsin.
I'm tired of losing bowl games against any team with a pulse. So far, it's all we have done under Gus.

I think Brown and Davidson should sit the bowl game.

Yeah I don’t see either of those guys playing in the bowl game and I would encourage them to make that decision that’s best for their future

Minnesota is a damn good team. If we wanna get to 10 wins we better have our shite together. We cant just show up and win.

If they chose to do that I'd be ok with it. But I don't believe they will make that choice.
