No, but I know a girl who worked there a couple years back. Does that help?

Was she a good tasting German?

It was all really good. Another problem is I can drop $100 in this place without even blinking

Both. Two people were drinking and eating. We had 6 beers with one being the liter stein

All that food together was like $40 something. Most of the dishes were $5-7 each. Not awful but can be pricey if you go nuts. The beers were $7+ for the non local drafts. The stein was $14 but it was a ton of beer.

Do German restaurants have good alcohol too or just beer?

Depends on where you go, but definitely beer focused. This one did have some cocktails and stuff, but not a full liquor bar.

Talking about German food, this was the dish I had in Berlin. It is basically a really rich beef stew with a potato dumpling. May be the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. The Biergarten was called Pratergarten if you ever happen to make it over there. Awesome place.

I found as a generality (not this place) German is a keyword for meat, really good breads, meat and noddles, more meat, sausages, meat and potatoes, and of course cabbage. They appear not so much on veggies... bout right? (or not)

Lanier - so you wanting schnapps?

I will put it on my list to try. Not a big fan of truly German beers. Their food leaves a lot to be desired typically.

I’ll have to try the TrimTab beers someone posted. I’ve tried a bunch by them and still haven’t found one I liked.

Avondale has the best beer venue in town, but make some of the worst beers. My favorite in state brewery is still Singing River.

Yep. Hopefully with Good People buying it out, that will change. I’ve always wanted that place to be a beer garden. Too much space to only sell one brand of beer. That is something Bham lacks, a good place to get all sorts of beer. There is J Clyde but the service there is so bad. I’ve had to instruct bartenders there so many times.

What kind of beers do you like generally?

I like all kinds of beers but stay away from sours and lagers.

We are heading there now. We are old frickers and try to beat the millennial crowd.

I dream of opening my own brewery in Cahaba Heights one day. Been home brewing now for 10+ years. I’ll do it one day.

I think I'm headed there for the late game.

Good people make the worst beer in town. Cahaba has the best beer and venue.
