It’s pretty easy. These kids talk. They know who is getting the red carpet treatment. They hear these kids saying Freeze, etc. call them every day, and they’re like I only get called every once in a while. It’s not hard to figure out who is being prioritized or not.

Said as of now Phillips, Shaw, Barber are ahead of Ross with Dixon, and Riddick being the wildcard let him play wherever he wants outside middle edge

Casey Thompson QB from Nebraska in the portal. If Freeze doesn’t have anyone else lined up Thompson would be better than what we’ve got, and a 1 year stop gap

I’ve heard his name for a few weeks, but wasn’t sure if he was ever going to enter. Auburn and Florida both interested.

Per Clemente we've offered JUCO OT Markel Bell who will be visiting soon and will enroll at a school next month. He's 6'8 1/2 and 340 lbs

By far would be the best portal option. I’m still holding onto a glimmer of hope McCall graduates, but Thompson would be welcomed for the experience and to push Finley off the roster. I just don’t want TJ as even a remote possibility of being our starter

TJ has until Monday to decide if he’s going to transfer. If he doesn’t enter the portal by then he will be on the roster next year.
Grad transfers are now subject to the same portal window as every other player (15-30 April).
Big dude. We recruited him out of HS. 247 has him CB’d to MSST. On3 doesn’t have a projection yet. Would be a great addition.

It’s kind of accurate (edit below)
ETA: after looking at some more info it looks like Grad transfers aren’t limited to the 15-30 April window. However, they must enter the portal prior to 1 May to be eligible for the fall.

TJ has played for two coaches and they both have been justifiably fired and shown to be in way over their head. If Hugh plays TJ this upcoming season…

Trovon Reed said Geriner would be the QB today if a transfer didn’t materialize. Bottom line, TJ’s odds are low. I’m guessing Geriner and Ashford go into the season getting snaps if things remain the same

I think Thompson is a done deal provided Hokanson keeps his mouth shut. Guy has already cost us one.

CJ Morris as I understand it. It was suppose to be quiet. That's what I was told. Not saying it is accurate but... good source.

Reed spoke earlier today at a local Kiwanis club. The final question of the day came from a reporter asked who Reed would put the betting odds favorite on who's going to be Auburn's starting quarterback in 2023, and whether or not Auburn is still recruiting a quarterback in the transfer portal.
Reed confirmed that the Tigers are still in search of a transfer portal QB, but noted that if (Auburn) is not going to get a top tier quarterback, the his bet would be on Holden Geriner being the starter.

Thompson has already publicly entered the portal and he's a grad transfer to boot. What would keeping quiet accomplish?
"Keeping quiet" is in reference to players who we are talking to, who haven't actually entered the portal - because you don't want their current team catching on. It doesn't apply to guys who are literally in the portal lol.
Thompson will either come or he wont if he's the guy Freeze is after. Talking about it now changes nothing.
