Freeze basically said in his presser he’s not looking for a portal QB.

I don’t disagree with him. Thorne showed some good flashes. First half of the year had so many issues. Clearly he didn’t know the offense nor did our receivers. He missed so many open people by not seeing them. He throws a good ball though and has enough mobility for this offense. With receivers that are actually good, I think he would be fine. I’ve never had an issue going after someone in the portal, but if we use the resources to get the rest of the offense built up, I’m okay with our QB room.

Put me on the record. It is a mistake not trying to bring someone in. Unless White or Holden are hidden secrets.
Not trying to upgrade the most important position on the field in the portal is a big mistake.

Malcolm Simmons just had about a 90 yard TD catch in the all-star game.

It’s down right flirting with disaster. Freeze needs to look at Gainesville. Top notch recruiting won’t save you from back to back subpar seasons.

I don’t disagree. We did try and bring people in. However, resources are finite and we have a lot more places of need. We went hard for Leonard and it just got too expensive. We aren’t throwing big money at a transfer QB. Doesn’t mean we haven’t tried going for one.
I’m just fine using our resources for the other positions of the alternative is having to drop top $ for a transfer QB that isn’t a superstar.

We the amount of WR talent coming in, the passing game needs a massive turnaround next year or people are going to be questioning Freeze.

Ryan Williams is continuing to pop off.
Burnette with the best runs of the day for sure.
Waller is a beefy dude - already very built. Could contribute next year.
Kamarion Franklin is very very good also.

I'm not flipping out over any position at the moment. There's a lot of movement that hasn't happened. The dust has even been kicked up, much less settled down.

I hope you are right. But if the above comments are true and Freeze is not looking for a upgrade at QB, it is a mistake in my opinion
It is too important of a position to leave it up to a guy who played as bad as he did this year. Just having someone who got a little better, even though we melted down at the end of the season with him, is not enough to greatly improve. And that is what we need to do. "Greatly Improve"

Don’t know much about him, but I can tell you the best RB in the state of Alabama plays for BB Comer. He’s just dumb as a brick and committed to Memphis. 6’1, 235.

I'll go on record and say we will be just fine with the Qbs we have on the roster. With the addition of elite WRs that can get separation and have the speed to take the top off a defense, Qb play should improve drastically. Thorne isnt some superstar Qb, but he is serviceable in a game manager role. Second year in the system, spring, summer and fall workouts. We will be fine. Especially now that the 2 Qb system will not be hindering the offense.

From what I’m being told, this isn’t anything but coach speak. Freeze has been hard after a QB. If Ward doesn’t commit to Miami after this visit, I’ll feel pretty good.

Not sure how you could trust Cristobal after his coaching debacles this year
