My source for that information is as solid as it gets

25 4* Edge Jared Smith was impressed by what he saw Faulk do on Saturday as a freshman. He’s been to Auburn twice now and plans to be back for the iron bowl Auburn is definitely getting in the mix for this guy
Now they have to recruit him out of Thompson instead of SP.

Dubose would be massive. Hopefully Big Willie helps this come to fruition. If we could pull a top OL and flipping from a school that has dominated the OL recruiting would really be impressive

I just saw that story this morning. The Spain Park coach handled it with class, but it seems something might be up with the whole situation. He texted the coach Saturday saying he wasn't going anywhere and the coach sees them the next day loading up the Uhaul headed for Alabaster

Yeah, my son showed me a text from one of the coaches Sunday night and I said that has to be fake. That can’t be real. It was.
Coach is a good stand up guy, but I bet he was pissed he was lied to like that.

what happened?
Jared Smith transferred from Spain Park to Thompson with 2 weeks and the playoffs left in the HS season. He texted the coach one night, because there had been rumors, saying they weren't going anywhere and he wanted to win at SP. Coach goes to talk with the family the next day and they're loading up moving vans.
Weird how all these really talented football players end up at Thompson even though they were already at fairly large, successful schools. Happened here in oxford with the Fegans kids.

Is Thompson good? Sometimes people wait to rat until they make playoffs.

Yeah, they've been in contention for the 7A title for several years now. Believe they won last year. They're 7-1 this year with a 3 pt loss to Clay Chalkville that also has D1 talent at multiple spots. They've wrapped up their region already.

The kid is supposedly already been ruled eligible according to the story as it was ruled a "compliant move". But Thompson (and others) have been doing this for years and getting away with it. I know recruiting in HS happens. It's just frustrating how the AHSAA selectively enforces those kinds of rules and Thompson does it pretty blatantly.
To top it off the Thompson coach says that he doesn't know the kid. Yet he is a 4 star Edge defender who plays in your region just down the road.
Here's a link to the AL.com story for anyone wanting to read it.

Thompson is the new Hoover.

Not coincidence that Hoover has progressively gotten worse and worse. Thompson didn’t invent what they’re doing, but they’re putting everyone else to shame right now.

Hoover doesn’t have the money they used to either. Demographically shifted. Granted they still have plenty of talent but not being able to cherry pick 5-6 players a year makes a huge difference.
Thompson’s coach has won more state titles than any coach in Alabama high school history. Like 10 or 11 championships. At multiple schools

My cousin coached there some years ago - and is head coach of another 7A that he has really turned around

Mark Freeman, won several at Bessemer Academy where he out recruited the shite out of the AISA schools. Had Brandon Heavens, Harris Gaston, and Major Ogilvie's son on one of his state title teams.

Keyshawn Blackstock has hit the transfer portal. 4* OT from Mich St. He wasn't a starter there so idk if we would take him but I remember the name

Random Twitter accounts hinting at something happening today.
They typically don’t know shite and get too excited so take with a grain of salt. (One is that Charlie guy that got in a debate with Crain)
