Doesn’t really change anything IMO….by the end of the season the players that are going into the portal pretty much know it. Taking 15 days off isn’t going to do much to make a difference.

Nasil-Kite (starting DE) is out for the year with a torn bicep.
That freshman DE flip (forgetting his name right now) has been looking great.

That is the dude I had never heard of until he was listed as the starter.
This sucks. This is where lack of depth comes into play in a major way. Vanderbilt knows how to beat spiraling teams. Get ready. Sean White aint coming in this year to save us.

How's the Juco kid we signed progressing? We also brought in a kid from Opelika I believe? Just wondering what our options are after the injury

Faulk and Walker would be next up I think

I would expect Johnson to move out before Walker or Faulk.

Faulk was already the back up there. Might see Reed or Denaud get some PT depending on how they are progressing. Johnson playing more there wouldn't surprise me either though.

Denaud
Did anything ever become of his arrest? guess it was handled internally.

Kite had actually been doing pretty well. The good news is we will throw some younger guys into the fire to pay dividends for the future.

Kite was playing like a stud for what he was being asked to do. That's why I don't think any of the lighter dudes can handle it.

Agree with Corch about them needing size, that's why I think Denaud is a possibility depending on how he's looking in practice. He's listed at 276 on the roster.
Too many more injuries and we won't have a choice other than to send the young guys out there.

Im glad they shortened the portal windows, guys sitting out there for months was kind of ignorant. Less than half who enter the portal (nationwide) actually go to another team. I wish the ncaa would say if you enter you are gone, be a lot less flirting with your current team for more NIL money. Who the heck should put up with a spouse that says "I want an open marriage for 30 days and if I dont see what I like I will be back".

Not sure I would put choosing a college on the same level as marriage.

It doesn’t change how long a player has to find another team…all it changes is how long the player has to put their name in the portal.
It’s a minimum change that doesn’t really change anything.

I was being facetious about the marriage analogy aa....your wife hasnt entered the portal has she
Didnt realize it just affected announcing, but that does offer better management. If a kid enters he will be picked up quickly due to preplanning, and within that window, so the team can better plan if he leaves.
Corch, your comments about Odom and his QB....heck I didnt realize Juju Lewis was at the Ga game, interesting. He will never see a game atmosphere like that at USC, now the NIL money, thats a different story....

Correct. Those two were next on the last depth chart

Missed this, but JLee put in a CB for 3* OT Favour Edwin
Edwin was mostly unranked coming into this fall. Super late riser with offers from Bama, UF, Clemson, GT, and some others. We still have to hold on after his Bama and UF visits but this one is trending really well for us.
Listed 6-8, 290. Probably not quite 6-8, but this is certainly a tackle sized prospect

Think Prince Tega on this one except he will have played a couple of years of OL instead of DE in high school.

You get Odom at AU you probably get JuJu. Didn’t Odom grow up an Auburn fan as well? Just have a feeling he’s gonna be the big late flip.
