CAN YOU DIG IT?!

Here's the link douche canoes

** Rodney Garner has spoken with Auburn about joining Gus Malzahn's staff. He is close with Tracy Rocker, who also has spoken with Auburn representatives during the past week. Rocker and Garner have talked before about collaborating at some point. Could this be it? I'm honestly not sure what to make of Garner's candidacy at this point.

** There is talk that Charlie Harbison, known to most everyone as Cheese, could focus on cornerbacks rather than coach the entire secondary. Another coach may focus on safeties. Still, I suspect this is a fluid situation based on what happens with Rocker and/or Garner since they're both defensive guys.

** Former South Carolina defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix, currently of Middle Tennessee State fame, has been in contact with Auburn regarding a position on Malzahn's staff. Nix has a relationship with Ellis Johnson. Nix is from the Gadsden area and has spent his entire coaching career in the southeast.

Al Pogue may yet be retained by Auburn. They are just trying to figure out if there is/can make a role for him. People seem to think he will be retained if he wants to be

All this stuff is from Rivals btw

Nix would be nice pickup as a position coach, IMO.

Yeah, that would be a pretty ridiculous defensive staff. Hell, Rocker and Garner together would be outstanding by itself.

They are all good recruiters and coaches. I'm stoked if we pull this off.

I am also pessimistic that it won't happen so I won't be disappointed

Yes, that would be awesome, but I'm not getting excited yet. I'm just now healing from the premature fapulation over Craig.

The HUN: I just talked to Al Pogue. Though an Auburn spokesman said he is still part of the staff, he said he does not yet know his status. He is to have a meeting with Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn this afternoon, as is Phillip Lolley. We'll pass on information as we get it.

Rivals joins in Al to be retained...
-------------
(Updated 3:25 pm)

Al Pogue will remain on staff, per an Auburn spokesman. His role and specific job title is unclear.
-----------
Justin Hokanson ?@JHokanson
G.A. Al Pogue will remain on Gus Malzahn's staff in some capacity

ETA: would have been dumb not to retain him in some capacity, he was the JJ's Coach at Carver.

Tommy Trott just tweeted we've hired Rodney Garner as DL coach, assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator.

“@WarBlogle: WE @T_Trott5: Rodney Garner, Auburn Football's new D-Line Coach, Assistant Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Welcome back Coach Garner.”

I'm hoping Tommy's not trollin.
