That may be more laughable than the hire.

2.2 million a year. I am sure it is loaded with incentives.

I am still going to believe that Arkansas had some dirt on Petrino that they were holding over everyone's head so they knew not to hire him. If I was Arky I would do it

I think that is a fair assumption. I think it may have been worth the risk initially to take a PR hit for hiring him. But the risk of having PR hits down the road about more from his past could have really embarrassed us if he truly has more skeletons in his closet.

What are you going to do with your username once you aren't an undergrad anymore?

FIFY

Arky already has its coach. If I were Tennessee, and Petrino STILL hasn't been picked up, I'm saying, "Screw it," and hiring him. There's a proven winner out there, and the Vols can still get him.

They're beyond dumb if they pass.

Well after this semester, I only need 9 hours to graduate. But with the way Chem II is treating me I may be here for a while longer. I guess next to my user name I'll put BS accomplished. Much rather have my username be auburnundergrad than something to do with a former coach.

Not on the Gus Bus yet but I'm standing at the bus stop. I think AU made the best hire they could and I'm excited about that. I'm extremely disappointed that it was in fact the best that we could do. Who turned us down and why? Those are the answers I want.

False.

The correct answer was Bobby Petrino

Everyone needs to get over their butthurt. Gus is the best offensive mind in the country. You can debate how well of a HC he'll be, but he's better than Chiz and out the gate. Smart would've been embarrassing. He doesnt like AU, and would've jumped at UGAy in a second. Gruden, etc was never coming to AU. Gary P and Petrino didn't work out, for whatever reason. Gus has a championship at every level he's coached. He's one of the few coaches who's out schemed Saban, and we needed to go a different direction than UAt. He'll do well at AU.
