USF ranked 108th and 90th in Pass Efficiency Defense the two seasons prior to this one. They do not possess the secondary personnel to match up with WKU's passing offense, period. You can only do so much schematically, and they've been trying to protect their secondary all season.

Allen would be a solid hire... he improved a bad defense in his first year calling plays... plus he's got SEC experience and appears to be a solid recruiter.

While I think Allen would be a very solid hire, it would be the most Auburn thing ever to have this guy that I know Bama and UGA are going to laugh about somehow turn the Auburn D back into what it's historically been.

I am with you. Hell, if the offense is not productive, it will be a moot point anyway. If the offense does get corrected, maybe some kids starting now might see the same DC when they graduate.
