Rich bissicia however the frick you spell it. Was going to be here if he wasn't assistant hc for dallas. Gus has hired some good coaches here, love how people run with one complaint on here

I don't think Grantham would be "melt" worthy DC selection given our top open our wallet guy was only Charles Kelly.

Given that Grantham gets paid $1.4mil and he probably isn't taking a paycut though (more like raise), it is absolutely melt worthy.

Maybe we should talk to Chavis.

Sumlin may not survive until the bowl game.

Looks like it's going down in College Station. If Sumlin is out, odds are Chavis is out too.... Why don't we throw a blank check at Chief at this point?

I'll admit, I admire your unwavering optimism, but you've yet to post anything of worth. Who do you want to see as our new DC? What're your thoughts on the current state of the program?

I'm beginning to think that neither Gus nor JJ have any idea how to hire a coach unless the coach comes to them (Clint) or it's blatantly obvious they should be first choice (Bruce and WM).

From my POV, it looks like Gus is lacking in connections.

I think it's dumb to say either don't know how to hire a coach. Gus has proven in the past he can make solid hires & he almost landed a great one in Kelly. When your #1 falls through after a week of flirting chances are your #2 & #3 choices have already moved on as well. I think after missing Kelly it's just taking the time to put some feelers out & see who might want to take the risk.

Also I wouldn't take much of any of this stuff as Gus now 100% wants this guy. I am sure he has reached out to plenty of guys & I am guessing Grantham is one of them. I highly doubt he ends up here. I was just saying if he does I am gonna be pissed

Do you honestly have any faith in our AD at this point, to even remotely think this is a possibility?? Lol ..
I would love for this to happen, but Gus doesn't have the balls, unfortunately

It could happen Gus put a tentative date of Jan 8th as a hire date for the new DC so we have time

Would be a strange mix. They have fairly different philosophies if I'm not mistaken.

I think that would be one of the smartest moves he could make though. He is a first time coach with no experience managing a program, hiring Chavis will allow him undivided attention to the other parts of being HC

Oh no doubt, Chavis would be a great addition. I just wonder if he would get the kind of control he would want. I'm interested to see how Kirby handles the transition to being the CEO.

Great move by Kirby

Is there any reason to think Chavis is a real possibility?
