I’ve listened to his podcasts since almost the beginning. He’s usually spot on with what he says. You can choose to not listen or whatever, but I’m going to continue to.
His recruiting info is especially good and almost spot on.
Also, he doesn’t claim to be in the know. He claims to know and have connections to people in the know and that’s who he relies on.

I'm just a sidewalk fan / armchair QB that loves Auburn and even I know Steele would be a disaster. If this is all true, I'm shocked TPTB tried to backdoor this crap and thought in any way this was a good idea. I hope the new hire is a home-run but given the track record I have little faith that will happen. I hope I'm wrong.

Chiziks win % at Iowa State is barely better than Steeles at Baylor. I'm assuming there's a lot of similar people in on this decision

The #StopSteele movement took hold yesterday and sent a clear (and loud) statement about how portions of the Auburn sphere felt about that repeal-and-replace plan. Important People who weren't in favor of Steele used that demonstration to embolden their stances.
I wouldn't rule out Steele entirely, but his candidacy took a major hit yesterday. And it's not just #StopSteele; his NSD press conference sounded great, sure, but he seemed out of touch once the day ended. He suggested that Armoni Goodwin was waiting until February to sign. Goodwin signed with LSU yesterday — and we're told he signed his LOI early in the day. Was Steele genuinely misled? Was he just trying to show that he's in control of the wobbly recruiting enterprise at Auburn? I don't know. I'm not sure it matters.

I cannot understand why Auburn (and fans) aren’t pushing Brent Venables the most. Guy is an elite recruiter, a great defensive mind, and coming from a program that Auburn wishes it was at.
It’s boggling my mind that he isn’t being forced to turn the job down publicly.

He was my top choice earlier in the season. I’m not sure why we all jumped to Cristobal once Gus was actually fired. But I guess it’s because it seemed like he was a real target? Anyway. Venables’ name should be in the mix too, unless he’s happy being a career coordinator kind of guy.

Being perfectly frank MC just showed his hxnd why he isn’t the Coach AU needs... MC contract agreement terms if you’re willing to take less $ in a league with less prestige it tells me one thing... you are scared to compete against the big boys... We need a coach with the will to not only compete but to also beat other SEC programs into submission. If you can’t have confidence in yourself stay in the lesser leagues.

At this point in Venables coaching tenure, it reminds me of Bud Foster at Va Tech, he might like his role and will never leave from Dabo's side

Nobody knows anything or has any real connection. Not Josh Moon, not J Boy, not PAM, not Kneebur, not Marshmallow.
