“Bring Him Home” was a song in Les Miserables.

Maybe the Auburn band can play it at the airport as Steve comes back to drown out the Guy screaming at Allen Greene and Steele.

Was just told by 2 very good sources who have intimate knowledge of the Auburn coaching search that the last 24 hours, & #stopsteele campaign, has blown up a 3-yr plan to undermine Gus Malzahn & get Kevin Steele the job. The man they say is behind it: former trustee Bobby Lowder

The sources said the plan from the outset was to fire Gus, name Steele interim, have a quiet search that ended with Steele as the best, most financially safe option. There was never a serious plan to pursue any other coach. And then word leaked about Steele ...

Inside the campus, those not on board with the plan tried to stall it, the sources said. They convinced Gogue to name a search committee for the purposes of slowing things down. They didn't expect such a sharp backlash from fans and donors.

The #stopsteele campaign and thousands of phone calls and emails have really caused several people to pause. And now there is a renewed sense that an actual search might take place. Might be too late on Cristobal, though. Next options, sources said, are Napier and Clark.

I don't believe a fricking word that Josh Moon says.

He works for the "Alabama Political Reporter". He was ran off from the Montgomery Advertiser and a local sports radio gig in Montgomery.

He only stays relevant because of false, splashy shite like this that never gets double-checked after the fact.

I hope we’re not buying into Josh Moon info. That guy is a worthless hack that loves to pedal dirty laundry on Auburn.

Lowder, really? Come on man.

That would be much more believable if it didn’t invoke boogie man Lowder. I do think there is some truthiness to it though, specifically Gogue trying to slow things down with a committee to pre-empt or at least make more people sign off on the Steele stupidity

No Auburn job search is complete without at least a cameo from Bobby Lowder

Bobby Lowder

A friend who is truly an insider told me that a plane with Lowder and Tim Jackson on board took off Saturday and landed in Spokane.

They rented a car so their movements cannot be traced.

If you connect the dots, the picture comes into focus.

I’m not going to reveal the name, but it’s going to cause quite the stir when Auburn makes the hire.

I don't care who says it or how many times it is said, I will never believe this is true.

Nobody in their right mind could have ever believed this was a good route to take.
