this very well could bite us in the arse. But in college all it takes is a superstar offensive coordinator and a head coach capabale of establishing a winning culture. You want to use that as an argument when Nick Saban is the standard rn and he’s a defensive coach
And Nick Saban saw the change and completely changed his offensive philosophy. Tell me who The great Bill Clark is going to bring in at OC to run this magical offense, because it can't be he current OC thats for sure.

Idfk I’m not in the room with him while he’s recruiting and neither are you. That’s a shitty argument based on pure speculation and could be used against Billy Napier and any other coach who’s never recruited in the SEC or on a national level.
The man finished outside of the top 100 nationally in recruiting. I might not KNOW whats going to happen, but all the signs point to him being a poor recruiter.

Take Clark’s name out of it, you obviously admire him, which is fine, but it’s skewing your ability to see how badly the AU BOT botched this coaching firing and search. Clark wasn’t even on the top 10 and now he’s leading because the leadership botched it so and.
No it’s not. I’ve already spoke on that many times. I’m not gonna misplace my aggressions with you bud.

Idk. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. If his offensive coordinator hire is lackluster y’all will see me change my tune.

I'm so bored of this search at this point I'm just about to stop paying it any attention.. now just preparing to feign optimism at whatever mediocre candidate we draw out of a hat

Why? Some people go against the grain and are built different. It’s the only place he’s ever coached so logic says maybe there’s some merit to that.

Well, if he's too scared to leave the state of Alabama, he's too much of wuss to be HC at AU.

Being scared isn’t the only explanation lmao but whatever. Continue to be extreme just to try to be right.

The answer to this question is probably already in this 160+ page thread, but can someone tell me who has the final say in who the football coach is? Does the BOT get to vote? Does the AD decide? Or is it the president?

So PTB want to hire another hs coach. We need to say NO just like UT fans did with Schiano. Demand that they remove any condition binding them to retain coaches. Let them do the job they are hired to do. Go get MC or Napier and give them ehat they want

From what I understand the Bot comes up with a candidate and presents them to the President. The president then has to give the ok.. The catch is the BoT has to approve any contract over 1 mil. So basically one can't overrule the other, they both have to be in agreement.

I'm not being extreme. I'm being intellectually honest. Auburn is the only SEC school that is/was/will be entertaining Bill Clark as a HC candidate. Why? He isn't qualified for a call back by our "search committee."
