Dude went from 'can't get him out of here fast enough', to the guy that holds 100% of the leverage in just 6 weeks.

Mullen just got 6m/per. I expect Tennessee and A&M prices will be steep, probably Arky too.

Which means Gus will be 6 or close to it if i had to guess

Sign him up and pay him. The LSU loss seems to have woken him up. I've read rumors that he's not disappointed JJ is leaving as well.

I was originally against a big jump, but if he wins Saturday I'm fine taking him to 6.5ish

pretty easy to justify in this environment

I’m hoping Leath took the opportunity to get Tim Cook on board with keeping Gus at the Iron bowl and we can just sign a deal and move on about our lives.

This is kind of a perfect storm right that’s really gonna work in Gus’s favor... a relatively high profile job that he has some connections to, combined with two of the bigger AU wins in the last 25 years = us ponying up big time.

Still terrified about his QB coaching ability. Hopefully Lindsey is here to help with that.

I'm little confused on the timing. This is a BIG game Saturday.

His first raise/extension was done the week leading up to the SECCG

I get so scared with shite like this. Gus is doing awesome right now but I just don't think his overall track record is deserving of a huge contract

gus has definitely had his problems coaching... and maybe it has to do with being a young hc at a big time program

but let's look at this another way

auburn has now gone to atlanta 6 times in the 26 years of the seccg... gus was on staff for half of those appearances

8 years on staff
3 seccg appearances

during one of, if not the, greatest dynastys in cfb history

Read where Sexton has presented Auburn with some hefty demands for Gus’s new deal.

I think we’ll have to go at least $6m with a heftier buyout...especially with Mullen getting $6m from the Gators

At least we're FINALLY getting to the point where nearly everyone is effectively admitting that this was always about a new deal for Gus at Auburn and not some ridiculousness about his "dream job" at Arkie.

Comparative to the SEC at the moment, he should demand, and deserves to be the 2nd highest paid coach. I'm sure the offer has stipulations on him winning the SEC Saturday.

I agree. I feel he is worth more than Mullen.....and he's been making $1m less than Sumlin, who just got shitcanned and did crap at A&M.

The problem is, when Gus is good....he's very, very good. But when he's bad, its pretty ugly.

.........and the Gus to Arky talk started after Auburn beat UGA and had bama on the horizon. It's crazy how stuff like this always comes out when Auburn is on the verge of something big............it's like clockwork.

I would highly doubt that.

He gets bonuses for stuff like that. I am quite positive that game has no bearing on the demands of Gus' agent and the new contract.

Bams like Fbaum (yeah I know TN grad but huge Bama fan) and Sheridan doing some serious Auburn jimmy rustling today.

Sexton has a juggling act going on inside of a high stakes poker game. It’s eerily quiet in Arky and Jimbo is holding both FSU and A&M hostage until later in the weekend. Auburn holds the cards to these jobs after the SECCG.

This and that’s pretty much it, all summed up. There shouldn’t be an argument here. His worst games are like the worst in our history but his best are record breaking.

But pay the guy. As much as I’m still upset at LSU, the dude did exactly what he had to do to win the hurt back. Two #1’s back to back being our biggest rivals? And him being a complete shite talking bad arse about it? Yeah he deserves some coin. I love it and love KJ.

Pay the man -- at least 10 of the SEC schools would love to have Gus. We don't need to get out into that shite market for new coaches right now.
We just need Kristi to keep his man-drive way up so that he stays a bad, trash-talking, balls to the wall mofo (by Gus standards) Maybe we should be paying Kristi on the side?

You don't know our history if you think 7-5 is our worst.

Gus’s bad = 7-6.... Auburn’s historical bad = 3-8/3-9 or 5-7.
