Per GridironNow Insiders have told them USCe has others higher on their list but Muschamp is on the list.
FWIW I don't think anything will come of this because USCe could get the Memphis guy a LOT cheaper as well as others.

I would bet Muschamp leaves after this season even if it is just to be a DC somewhere else.

Why?
That makes no sense. Unless he gets a coach in waiting job (which ain't going to happen) there is no reason for him to leave.

Yeah he's making 2mill a year. He won't make that anywhere else

I know things can change, and if the right HC job came along I think he would jump, but not to another DC position.

Coach Jim McElwain sure is enjoying his Muschamp recruits right now.

Just look at his contract no buyout and he can pretty much leave when he wants. Plus he still has all that UF money, so if he decides we can't be fixed next year just get the hell out. Its like Lawson's situation, if Mushchamp leaves he can say the players sucked and were not all his. If he returns and we still suck this bad its more on him. Which pretty much guarantees Gus fired and Muschamp is DC at Troy or South Alabama. I also forgot if Kirby Smart takes a HC job at the end of the year Saban would get him just to rustle the shite out of our Jimmies.

It's like you haven't looked at anything he's done in his career. For starters look at 2004. Second, he built a hell of a defense at Florida and they're ranked in the top 15. I'd say let him recruit and I don't think he's interested in leaving at all. This is crazy talk.

Its like you all have forgot how cursed we are on D since Tubbs left. Muschamp leaving would be the icing on the cake for the curse.

Folks every year want to speculate on our coaches leaving to hurt recruiting. It started when we first got Muschamp. He will NOT leave for another D-Coordinator job, head coach yes. He makes 1.6 million a year and it goes up. He has two nephews at Auburn, (one is a walk-on), he is near his family and has plenty of money.
If he leaves for a D-coordinator making LESS money he will e seen as a quitter and will never get another head coaching job.

I like Muschamp, I think he is a great defensive mind and want him to stay. I just think you should pump the breaks because
When he was Saban's DC at LSU? Muschamp deserves as much credit as Kirby Smart (I think a good bit but still)
Florida was good at defense before he got there and he inherited some dominant DL players. Continuing success like that is underrated but he didn't "build" it as much as maintained it
If we can't fix our DL issues, he should be looking to leave. He inherited a terrible situation and it very well could lead to him being fired.
