Our Last choice was
76–24
Should we stick with him?

NFL: 11–27 (.289)
NCAA: 47–43 (.522)
Bowls: 1–2 (.333)
Not, 'well this guy may be good, or this guy could be okay'.
Name someone you could point to that a) would be interested and 2) has accomplished more in his collegiate career than Rhule.

Sure, but we are just jumping on to liking a guy just because he coached in the NFL--he's not proven anything. I don't get you folks, nothing about him indicates he's going to be some Saban-like NFL->NCAAF hire. It's really hard to gauge any success from a lower conference like the AAC/MAC/B12/BigE when that's all the experience/success they can show for while being lackluster in the NFL.

Rhule is from NY and played at Penn. Never coached in the South. His Baylor teams never finished higher than 29th in recruiting and that was just one year (2018). The other years he finished 40th in both. I think we can do much better than this. Heck Freeze is a better option than this and I don't want him either.

Right now, there isn't any available that would feasibly leave (Kiffin is the closest--although I still don't completely like him). He's running an undefeated season at Ole Miss why would they let him go? Others are just not apparent. I don't think you can either, just jumping for a guy just because he's available without looking at his career is folly.

No coach will ever be Saban. If that's your bar for our coaching hire, i'm not sure what to tell you my man.

Who do you want. Jesus Christ himself?

It's not, but not going with another pedestrian hire is.

He’s proven he can take a nothing program and build them up to win games.

1. Your never going to have a Saban like hire. That was just dumb luck out of nowhere from Bama.
2. This is as close to a Saban like hire that you’ll get.

So basically SEC or no. B12 is power 5

I don't think it was dumb luck, I think they researched the heck out of every option. I feel like this is Rose (NFL) colored lenses syndrome.

The only coaches he'd be willing to take have teams ranked in the top 5.

I've answered this several times, you both are ignoring it. These names simply aren't it that are available. Why can't we ask for more and not be live in the bottom feeders basement? Answer me that?

Why don't you frickheads tell me how well he was at his job in Carolina. How the fans felt about him the 3 seasons he was there. I'm seeing a bunch of thank gods from them.

Sounds like a winner:
"Now that neither of us work at the Stadium, I can say this.
I worked at BOA Stadium for many years and had multiple run-ins with Rhule. Dude was a massive a-hole, especially during the 2020 Covid season when the team was basically living in the luxury suites.
He never wanted to see the setup crew in the stadium. You know, the building we worked in. Just know he treats service staff like shite and made our jobs even more difficult in a time where it was already very tough.
Edit: we had to work from 9 PM to to 5 AM during the 2020 season because he didn’t want to see staff in the stadium during the day.
Held team meetings all day long in the club-level concourses, in the silver club lounge areas, because that made sense. He would shut down that section of the entire 3rd and 4th floors. This meant that if we needed to access a part of the stadium that was just past that area, we had to walk all the way around in the opposite direction to get to it. Keep in mind the stadium is outfitted with a war room and multiple large conference spaces.
Once we were driving a freight cart loaded up with cups, plates, and other things to be delivered to suites. He sent a staffer to stop the cart and ask us what was in the boxes and ultimately to tell us to get lost. This was what led to us having to work 3rd shift.
He held one of these meetings the morning of a game day. We had done our best to accommodate his demands thus far, but the morning of a game is crunch time and we needed access to all suites to get game-ready. He sent another staffer to tell us to be quiet.

I prefer LK but I know the reality of his contract makes that a long shot. Rhule is the best of the rest that I've seen mentioned
