DJ and Tank are banged up. MAR looked good late against Bama. Time to see what the kid can do against A&M. If he has a good game, I think we beat them. They are not nearly as good as their ranking.

They played Bama better but we looked a lot better vs. LSU. I'm not sold on them being a top-5 team.

And what happened to DJ Williams? He didn't get any carries. I thought he looked pretty good vs. UT.

I know on one play Saturday he was blocking on a run by Bo and a defender rolled up one of his legs. Don’t remember seeing him after that.

DJ is finishing his second season and doesn't show signs of being an every down back. IDK why it takes Gus 4 years to see if a RB can cut it.

dont worry since Shivers wont lose any eligibility this year he will be our starter next year and Gus will praise his leadership and experience.

frick I hate seeing him get the ball with more than 5 yards to go. I think he closes his eyes and runs either that or since the McKinney hit last year he thinks he can run everyone over.

Apparently MAR is our RB4, but he ran way too well against Bama to be our 4 back. I don’t care if he was only running against the second string 5 stars, not the first.

And I don't mind SHivers getting some reps bc he does have that outside speed we don't have except w Tank.
DJ I feel is only in there to provide pass protection. If anyone should get less reps its him, IMO. He has no breakaway speed, no cutting ability, not fast...
MAR did look good, but i also realize I think he was running against their backups. Too early to tell what he was not doing that put him 4th on depth.

I still like DJ as a rotation guy. He is able to pass protect and doesn’t go down at the slightest bit of contact, which are two things Shivers is incapable of. He’s averaging 5.7 ypc this year, has the longest rush of any RB.
He’s not a burner and he’s not a guy that’s going to put the game on his shoulders and take over like Tank, but he can do all facets of the game and rarely loses yards.
I’d be fine if Shivers’ carries were cut in half or more. His one strength is his speed and we frequently run him between the tackles. His longest run for the year is 14 yards.

I still think he’s fast. It’s just that teams are basically playing touch football with him. I’m sure he’d smoke most CFB players in a track meet.

If you dont see more MAR....you wont see him. He will hit the portal, the fella was magical in HS, has a great bloodline, and has put on 10-15 good lbs.

If he doesnt get 15-20 touches on Saturday I'll be disappointed.
