Nate Oats said he’s used Auburn’s 2018-19 SEC tourney title team as an example he’s used talking to his team of a group that had rough patches in the regular season before turning it on in March. That team won the league and went to the Final Four.

Is Nate Oats trying to get fired?

Not sure but I really do think he wants one of these job openings. We shall see how the off-season plays out.

You referring to Duke? What other opening is there?

He's been mentioned around the Maryland opening mainly. Louisville I guess isn't out of the realm of possibility. I'm sure there will be another high end gig or two.

Duke isn’t open. Jon Scheyer is stepping into that role

Not sure why he would want to leave. The REC is going to keep up buying the best money can buy. He in no way gets the pressure from turd fans that the football coach gets. I guess salary would be the only reason.

That team got hot before the end of the regular season. Unless the light switch literally turns on I see absolutely no similarities between the 2

Update: They squandered a 15 point lead to Vandy last night and lost.

This team had no business losing this many games but basketball is a funny game. Sometimes a team just has zero cohesion and it’s visible when you watch this Bama team. Also, there was some presumption with this team resting on JD Davison being a star and he has in some ways just been a higher usage flanigan for that group

That sounds about right. They are talented but every bit as much inconsistent.

They’re just a mess defensively. All of their guards are just bad, especially JQ and JD. Last year they had Petty and Herb that were able to shut down defenses by themselves and hide the guards. This year they don’t have that luxury.
I also don’t understand them having Bediako. If your whole offense is driving into the lane for either a layup or a kick out 3, why would you clog the lane with a big which brings makes your layup much more difficult and eliminates the need for a perimeter defender to crash the paint for help.

Yeah and even Primo was a good switchable perimeter defender who could make open threes. Quinerly is proving not to be the type of player you can rely on to facilitate and manage game in, game out. Last year he was basically just asked to score and he was great.
