If I could have made a final order, I could have stocked up so I have time to find another vendor. Now, Im either fricked or I have to go overseas and pray they make them right and don't get lost over the ocean.

I have to source 73 skirts and 30 different tabs that I tie my jigs with. Going to be exciting.

Hey Lanier, that sucks. You may reach out to Jack Tibbs (owner of Strike Zone Lures) in Eufaula. He has a warehouse full of skirts/materials or may be able to direct you to his supplier. I think Jack said he was sourcing all of his skirt materials from overseas also. Good luck and hope you have enough material to get you over the hump until you get a new supplier on board.

What's the story behind the closure? Not profitable? Retiring? Any chance that you can vertically integrate and acquire his business?

I always hate hearing things like this. I toy with the idea of being a small business owner myself, but one small business owner per family is the limit for sanity I believe.

Combination of a few things. I think he is having some health issues and it was time for him to retire so I just think he had enough and retired.

We are toying with the idea of purchasing another local business or two here. One is going out of business due to mismanagement. We will absorb that one into our current business as it is a perfect fit. The other we are considering buying from the owner when she nears retirement. Instead of sending our oldest to college, we figured we will invest in the business for her instead.

I'll keep plugging away at my stupid corporate job while everyone else conquers the world......

Seems like a great way to turn something I love (fishing) into something I hate.

I'm gonna grind out the corporate job with the steady check and benefits. It seems my wife and daughter are the two that are gonna rule the world with their small businesses despite what the local, state, and federal gov'ts decide to do.

I have too many feet in both worlds right now...can't wait until I can shed something....preferably the corporate one...

88, do you actually live in Bradenton? Manatee County?

We are looking hard right now at a place in Legends Bay, right down the street from IMG Academy

I live in NW Bradenton. I live over by Robinson's Preserve and the Desoto National Monument. River a few blocks away and the bay about 10 or so blocks away and of course from the preserve I can be kayaking out in the gulf. Wife and I ride to Ana Maria Island every weekend for Brunch. We go down the island close to Cortez. Been here since 2003. Bought an older house and went through a complete remodel (more land). Come on down..I don't like HOAs so although I am in technically a neighborhood but no HOA and this area is a nice area without the hassle. Boat launches all within a couple of miles of me.

I know the area you are in well. We were down with a agent looking at places and we looked at 10 or so in that area. Love Robinson Preserve too. Cant wait to explore it

I love HOA's. Especially in Florida. Its a place where you can go to look at a 500K neighborhood and the directions tell you to turn left at the refrigerator in the guys yard then 1/2 mile passed the broken down Fiero. No rhyme or reason to some of the things there. Same in Georgia

We looked in Margaritaville bud decided that a town home was not for us. We want our own private pool and a backyard of our own. We have eliminated that.

When we go to the island, I love to eat at The Feast. One of my favorites. They make some very good Hog Fish there. One of my favs..

We will be down the last week of July for a week then back for 10 days late in August. Staying on the Island. Looking forward to it. We should hook up a for a drink or lunch.. My treat.

That would be fun to finally meet. Have you looked over at the development by Robinson's II. They have a whole development going in. 9th and 99th closer to the bay and Robinsons. Since you like fishing you can walk out the back and fish in the park or near the mangroves. Some areas are good for Snook.

No problem and if you are not afraid of building what you want you may find empty lots in there to build. There are 2 devs there and the one that is more private has a shared dock if you want a boat on the bay access.
