AU had announced that they were going to be switching the light towers to LES this summer. Any word on if the project has been held up because of Wuflu, or do we get an orange and blue lightshow in pregame this year?

Adding these BS lights combined with the already continuous blaring of shitty rap music will probably go ahead and kill the night game experience for me.

I am sure the croots will love it though, that is really all that matters.

Get with the times old man.

Honestly, the joy the student athletes get from it should be enough for you to enjoy it though. If that music gets them more pumped and amped for a win blare that shite from Friday afternoon till Sunday morning

I was joking about the o&b light show (although it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen).

I am curious about the LED project. I think the fact that they can turn them down and bring them back up quickly can have some interesting/positive uses.

For example, the AUMB 2017 Vegas show with the LED bands on the hats and majorette boots. Imagine dimming the lights on the towers so that those lights show up stronger. Also means you could do like MLB does and start a game with natural light and then turn the stadium lights on as it starts to get dark, and build up the intensity as the night gets darker - basically play under a consistent light level all game.

LED lighting reduces costs in operation and maintenance. Way more energy efficient. Would be dumb not to.

I just don't want the flashing BS light show on every 3rd down. It's cheesy and seizure inducing.

Just close your eyes and say War Eagle 3 times, and that will pass during the game..:)

This is technically an upgrade over the old system. The old bulbs are slowly going out of production, temperamental, hard to store and a pain to change. Big upfront cost but there'll be long-term savings. Pretty sure they've worked well for the baseball park so far

I get the the technical reason for switching. I switched in my shop. 40 bulbs changed and 10 ballast's modified. Good change but I cant help to think that Auburn will just follow UGA and Bama with the flashing BS during the game which I cant say I love

I don’t care if the hang a mirror ball above the 50 yard line if it means we don’t run a hurry up dive play after we make a first down.

I hate the idea of a light show. But, I'm probably half Laniers age, so I'm old. What do I know.

Looks like the new lights are installed. Prepare for seizures Looks like they only added ~60 color LEDs so they didn't go completely overboard

It's cooler than I was expecting because I wasn't expecting them to be able to control the area that is being lit up. Does UGA or UAt's light have that ability?

I was going to say the same thing. Granted, I had low expectations but it’s not bad

I think they do, but they just always put the lights on blood red
