yeah... i don't see this as that big a deal. lotta self-righteous pricks in this thread. lots of players don't qualify out of HS, but still end up being great college players.

What are the rumors re why JSmith really isn't coming?

You could have about a 1.5 or so in your core subjects coming into your senior year and as longas you got a 3.5 in those subjects and got a 22 on your ACT, you would qualify.
That is not that effing hard especially as someone who has their football career on the line.
Lazy arse.
Still want

ACT score. Hoke says Smith is waiting to hear back from his most recent attempt.

Being scared of taking tests is only a matter of preparation. If you took the time to prepare and take mutliple practice exams and study the type of material on the SAT/ACT and were familiar with it, you wouldn't be scared.
If I told you that I had a test on adding and subtracting for 1 billion$, I don't think any nervousness would get in the way of you failing that test. Yet a 1st grader would be extremely nervous due to their lack of familiarity with the subject. It is all preparation

You are assuming people are as calm, cool, and collected as you about taking test. Not reality. There are people who are bad test takers no matter how much they know their stuff.

I am not saying that someone will bump their score to a 34+ but I refuse to believe that proper preparation for the ACT/SAT will get you below the 22 needed if you really put the time in and especially if you had a decent education (which McgillToolen provides)
Had Jason been coming from some small school from a town population of 300 whose only teacher is barely qualified to teach finger painting, I can understand the deficiencies in his education which would make it hard to qualify either grade or ACT wise. He just doesn't fit that description though

There are people who just mentally freak out no matter how prepared they are. I'm the opposite mentality. I can go into a test knowing almost nothing and be more calm than some of my friends who know the stuff backwards and forwards

yeah McGill is good school. He was probably in the CP1 classes. Those classes are smaller to provide further attention and assistance from teacher to student.
Not sure on where he went to grade school. Most of the students that go to McGill went to various Catholic schools around town.
McGill finally got with the times when they started "recruiting" players from the city leagues. Steve Savarese was the coach at the time but now it is Bart Sessions.
St. Paul's does the same exact thing. Mark Barron lived in Toulminville but went to St. Paul's?? You bet. And I think AJ McCarron is a proud native of the Parkway... Dauphin Island Parkway. I promise you he isn't from West Mobile like most of those privileged Spring Hill kids who go to St. Paul's.

quote:Well, his family has a house in Spring Hill, and he lived there throughout high school (last couple years at the very least). I know they had a beachhouse on Dauphin Island...but that paints a whole different picture from yours.

Now, can you show me on a doll where West Mobile touched you?
