Tore it up again last night for the Patriots... looking more and more like the heir to Brady.

Stidham Back shoulder TD pass

According to several on this board he was the reason for our offensive woes last year.

Wonder if those same posters will come out trashing Nix and/or Gatewood at the first signs of trouble?

Our offensive line was the reason for our offensive woes and Jarrett started panicking because of it.

I think more people blamed that oline more than stidham. We saw what stidham could be in 17

meh. He was scared to death of contact here and he did not see the field well. Every game we had guys open and he was throwing into double, and some times, triple coverage.

You have to remember he is playing against guys who are fighting to make the team right now. I need to see him playing against NFL ones before my opinion of him changes.

I was hard on JS, but how people gloss over how injured our OL was last year is laughable

We needed JS to be something he wasn't...to be fair to him we needed something most guys don't have in 2018. In 2017 when pressured or key'd on he didn't do much either.

I think the thing that made it worse with JS was that anyone could see the arm talent and we longed for him to be our version of Johnny Football or something...he never seemed comfortable with the role of being the man. He's in a great system and I wish him the best.

He had a great last drive. He was a little lucky too. He almost threw 3 interceptions, DBs just didn't make the catch. One was on the 2 yard line trying to score and would have been a pick six.

Almost pick 6

Stare down receiver, could have been picked.

Bad throw away when being pressured. Would have been picked if DB kept feet in.

The last drive showed some good things from Stidham, reminded me of the comeback against A&M last year.
99 yard 4th quarter drive.

He had a lot of good moments yesterday but he looks like the same guy if you actually watch the snaps. Gets flushed easy, very shaky in the pocket but makes great throws.

He looks like the QB he was at AU with a better OL.

Our OL got its asses whipped game after game last year. Jarrett has some things to work out still but you could put Cam Newton in last years offense and he would be running for his life play after play.

That OL would have looked way better if the D would have had Cam Newton to consider.

I understand out Oline was not stellar and he had to run some but tons of his over throws was when he got plenty of protection. Its his job to his wide open receivers and he missed as many as he hit..

I like the guy. Im very happy that he appears to be improving but he was a disappointment a lot for us. He did some good things and made some plays but he was very inconsistent which was what we had heard his strengths were.

Some on Gus? Sure.

Some on the Oline? Sure

Alot of it on him? yes

I remember one of those early against MSU last year. IIRC Slayton was 15 yards behind their secondary and JS rushed his throw and missed him by a mile. Would have changed the dynamic of the game.

When you miss a simple pass for a big TD then the offense ends up punting or whatever, it kills the momentum. Those big plays are HUGE for the offensive energy. You just cant miss them...

Exactly right. When they’re that wide open, just put some air under the ball. No need to try and sling it and risk overthrowing them.

Stidham went 1-6 in Wednesday’s NE/TN joint practice session... he’s still gotta long way to go, regardless of what a late 4th qtr TD in a preseason game might suggest (and that’s alright).

Way too early to tell who was holding back who.

Our O-Line was terrible protecting him, but to be fair, he overreacted and became unreasonably paranoid thereafter.

Not a huge NFL fan but I'll assume the Pat's have a decent O-Line. If/when they don't, then we can judge Stidham in NE vs Stidham @ Auburn.
