Okay, list the reasons

ETA:

I am not saying Tubs would be great. Just responding to that article. I want someone who has experience in a successful AD. I haven’t put much thought in him.

Our money people, in my opinion, wouldn’t respond to her. We need someone who has spent time in an AD environment, and knows althetics.
It's not like she doesn't have SOME connections...

The Eufaula, Ala. native was a graduate assistant at Auburn after his collegiate playing career ended. Snead also was an administrative assistant of football operations at his alma mater in 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and planned to attend medical school until he was offered a graduate assistant coaching position at his alma mater. He earned a Master of Education degree at Auburn while working as a graduate assistant.

A big portion of that job is fund raising. You have to be liked by boosters and alumni. Honestly, Tubs might be a good fit.

Our money didn't like him. I am a huge Tub fan, but he is a very abrasive person. He rubs people the wrong way. Our former football players didn't come around much when he was the HC.

As huge a Tub fan as I am................this would be a horrible decision and he has absolutely zero shot.

That’s a good point. I am not up to date on his AU relationships. We need someone who knows how to work within an AD. I am not up to speed on ISU’s AD, but I am sure our current president will give him a look. Listening to people talk about the AU AD job, they say it is different. Not sure exactly what that means. I am assuming due to our donors. I imagine they are somewhat a small group, and very powerful.

Les Snead would be awesome. But the way the Rams are rolling, doesn't look like he'll be going anywhere.

Just hire a business savvy guy/gal with some experience with athletics. Preferably no ties to Auburn

Yeah, that's probably correct - but it wouldn't hurt to test the waters.

Who knows, he's got three young kids, and he's from Eufala - he might have some qualms about bringing them up in a metro with 18 million people in it. Not exactly what he signed up for in St Louis.

I thought he said he would have to leave ESPN in a pine box.
Or was he would only leave for a pine box full of BBQ and Duck Lisence

On what grounds do you think he would make a good AD?

Well anyone would be better than our last one. Honestly it is not a difficult job if Jacobs could do it. At this level it's basically fundraising and smoozing (sp). A high school AD does 1000 times more work than Jacobs. Tubs was a "ceo" type coach, that would translate to the AD well.

If he really wants to be an AD then he should work his way up.

Tubs could be good short term.

He could help calm the waters a bit and help navigate some of the BS that is on the table right now.

Plus making sure JJ is gone in June plus his band of merry bitches.

What good AD is going to come in a wade through the shite show that is Auburn athletics right now?

Right now it needs to be damage control and familiar faces help do that.

History says yes. With the exception of the guy from Kent State prior to Housel.

No, but if you think a guy is going to walk in and clean up all this mess w/o AU ties then you are just being foolish.

Find a guy that can smooth things over then be willing to walk away after 2 years.

No negotiating experience.
