Is there any reason at this point not to bench Thorne?

I’m sure this is being discussed in other threads I just don’t see it at the moment. I can’t think of any reason to start anyone other than Thorne. Hate to be one of those fans but after rewatching the game he is just a head case. Guess I’d say let’s ride w Hank.

I mean the clear reason is maybe he is head and shoulders better than Hank. Hank’s only chance going against a legitimate opponent was kind of a train wreck. Thorne at least isn’t always a complete train wreck. Only most of the time.

it’s literally discussed in every thread.

All we can do trust High Freeze.

It’s 100% on Hugh Freeze letting him throw 30 times a game though instead of giving it to our running backs 70% of the time.

Bingo. Thorne is the best we have and we know that now. Hugh knows he needs to try and win as many as he can this year, which isn't many with Thorne but it's more than with Hank. No point in trying to develop Hank and tank the season even more when you are (hopefully) going to go get someone else from the portal anyway.

Ever hear the term “boot licker”?

If you are unsure just ask jang, he can fill you in on the requirements of the cult.

No, because our quarterback room is pretty atrocious. FCS level.

No QB on the roster will be starting for AU next season. We will have a portal QB. So play the QB now that gives you the best chance to win and it’s not even close that QB is Thorne and that’s the only reason needed.

To this point, Freeze has shown to be a system coach. He is not able or willing to adjust his offense to fit the talent he has. As long as he is going to base this offense on the RPO, he will need a running QB and that's Thorne. Now if after the bye he is willing to base this offense around his best players (Hunter and KLS) then Hank would probably do well.

Walker White was intensely recruited too and so was HB from his Liberty days, somehow I doubt what you are saying heavily.

He gives us the best chance to win. Winning as much as possible helps us hang on to our current roster and recruit better.

My thoughts are if he is a true difference maker at QB, he’d start to be in the mix now. I’m sure they’re going redshirt route, so who knows if this guy will be in the mix in the future. I’m not confident he or any of the other QBs are being properly developed. I think this is a similar situation to Gus.
Neither have had a guy that they brought in that made huge leaps in development.
You can bring up Nick and Malik, but these were mobile guys that used their feet a lot and were skilled in the option game. We don’t have that at the QB position.
Begs the question, much like we asked with Gus, why not be out getting guys like that it in here if that has been a success for you?
Maybe Deuce will be that guy. I don’t know a lot about him.

He's listed at 6'3 225 dual threat, and from what I recall he was a part in getting some of these freshman WRs on campus and interested. Hopefully he gets to actually have a chance on field

Walker is probably the most mobile QB on the roster currently. The problem is the vast majority of his reps have been running scout team so he's not ready to run Hugh's system. Unless he starts getting more reps in Hugh's system he won't be a potential option until next year at the earliest.

Walker definitely has a future. It just isn’t now. And most likely not next season. Kid is going through a lot personally.

Bring in a portal QB and let Walker and Deuce battle it out in the 26 season

Is Thorne really the problem? I think the real issue is Freeze not willing to change or adapt his scheme to fit the offense. Peyton had the same amount of carries as Jarquez in the Georgia game. Payton 13 rushes for 22 yards which does include sack yardage. Jarquez had 13 for 91 yards. We are built to run the ball yet we try to pass our way out of everything. We should be running to open up the pass.
