Who cares really? I mean I lived through years and years where the helmets were a cream color and uniforms white and it drove me nuts.

I care. The '82 and '83 seasons were special for me and Auburn, as it really served as a catapult for Auburn's dominance into the decade and beyond. No, maybe not terribly significant in the big picture, but it's a nice nod to nostalgia. And Harsin in his 1st year, it also is reminiscent of Dye's early years.
Bo Jackson, Randy Campbell, Tommy Agee, Greg Carr, just a few honored names who last wore those orange masks.

Yeah I think it's a cool nod to those teams that came before. It would be a little different if Auburn had never worn them at all and this was just out of the blue. That would be kinda weird, but still not a big deal.
I've seen some people who are just beside themselves about how this is just a "cheap gimmick" and "not Auburn football" and I just can't understand getting that worked up over such a small change.

Except, it literally IS Auburn football. A part of its past and recalling a return to glory. The last time Auburn had these on the helmets, was the first time since '57 that Auburn had won the SEC. This isn't uga wearing black jerseys, or battle grey uniforms with day-glow colored numbers like Oregon.
How are some here so oblivious to the team's own history?

So that's coming from the athletic department that it's a nod to the early 80's building of a new culture or just using an orange facemask because it's and all auburn all orange game?

And if Harsin can recruit the biggest, fastest, and baddest dudes out there like Dye did then he can put the team in pink tutu's I don't care.
We all complained about Gus meddling if CPD would have gotten out the way and let Sullivan or Crowe run the offense there is no telling how many national titles we win in the 80's. The late game combo of that 3 way cluster frick of coaches were horrible.

All I know is what it means to ME. No one in the AD asked for my opinion. But the orange face guards have been a topic of discussion off and on for nearly 40 years. I love the way they look, others don't, but regardless, it's a part of AU's history. I don't get the push back. I'd think most everyone would be on board.

I'm not pushing back. I said who cares. I previously said they looked good.
I love the Auburn uniform but don't get teary eyed seeing it.

I wish Auburn and Georgia started wearing throwback concept uniforms for DSOR.
